The White House Says There Are No Visitor Logs For Biden’s Home In Wilmington

On Monday, the White House stated that it does not retain visits logs for Vice President Biden’s personal property in Wilmington, Delaware, where his attorneys had found at least six documents marked as classified.

Over the weekend, the head of the House Oversight Committee, Republican James Comer of Kentucky, wrote a letter to the White House requesting an accounting of who might have had access to the property. Rep. Comer is from Kentucky. He referred to the situation as “worrisome” and wrote in his letter that it had caused many to wonder whether or not the President had “compromised our national security.”

White House Counsel’s Office spokesman Ian Sams issued a statement in which he claimed, “like every President across decades of modern history, his personal residence is personal. However, after taking office, President Biden reinstated the standard and tradition of keeping White House visit logs, including releasing them regularly, after the previous administration had discontinued them.

In November, Biden’s legal team initially discovered a “limited number” of documents with secret markings at the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement in Washington. Biden had office at this institute after leaving his position as vice president. After conducting searches at the President’s personal houses in Wilmington and Rehoboth Beach, Delaware, the President’s legal team located the additional six documents this month at the President’s residence in Wilmington.

Biden has stated that he was “surprised” by the findings and has emphasized that he and his staff are cooperating fully with the Justice Department as it examines the discovery of secret materials. However, the discovery of classified documents has caused a political issue for Biden.

Additionally, he has attempted to differentiate himself from former President Donald Trump, who failed to comply with the government’s repeated requests for the return of all classified documents that he kept in his possession after leaving the White House. In the previous year, the FBI was granted permission to search Trump’s Mar-a-Lago Club and his home in Palm Beach, Florida.

According to the authorities, the FBI is credited with recovering more than 300 secret documents and thousands of other pieces of government property from Mar-a-Lago. After assuring federal investigators that they had handed over all the records they could find, Trump’s crew informed the agents that they had seen many of those documents.

The team working for Biden has stated that it voluntarily informed the appropriate authorities after discovering confidential materials. On Thursday, Attorney General Merrick Garland announced the appointment of a special counsel to investigate how sensitive materials were handled after being discovered at former Vice President Joe Biden’s office and his residence in Wilmington.

Robert K. Hur, who served as a top official in the Justice Department under the presidency of Donald Trump, was selected by Garland to head up the probe. In November, Garland designated another special counsel, Jack Smith, to head a separate investigation into the preservation of classified papers at Trump’s house. Hur’s appointment followed Garland’s announcement of Smith’s appointment.

Biden has been the target of criticism from Republicans who are attempting to minimize Trump’s handling of secret information because of recent revelations.

Comer stated in his letter to the White House, “President Biden’s mishandling of sensitive materials raises the issue of whether he has harmed our national security.” Comer was referring to the handling of classified materials by Vice President Joe Biden. The citizens of the United States will never know who had access to this highly secret information because there is no list of those who have visited his apartment that can be found anywhere.

In an effort to demonstrate cooperation with the investigation being conducted by the Justice Department, the personal attorney for the President, Bob Bauer, took the initiative on Saturday to make public a timeline of the events surrounding the discovery of classified documents at both the personal office of Vice President Joe Biden and his home in Wilmington.
