Q’Orianka Kilcher, a star of the TV show “Yellowstone,” was charged Monday with improperly claiming roughly $97,000 in disability payments while working on the show. According to the California Department of Insurance, Kilcher, 32, of North Hollywood, has been charged with two felonies of workers’ compensation insurance fraud.
In 2020, Kilcher appears in four episodes of Kevin Costner’s Paramount Network Western, Angela Blue Thunder. In 2005, she played Pocahontas in “The New World,” and in 2019, she plays Dora in “Dora and the Lost City of Gold.”

While filming Dora in October 2018, Kilcher is believed to have suffered neck and shoulder injuries, according to the insurance company.
A performer on the television show Yellowstone, Q’orianka Kilcher, has been accused of improperly receiving over $97,000 in disability benefits.
A year later, Kilcher told a doctor managing the insurance claim that she had been offered a job but could not accept it because of significant neck pain from her injuries, according to the insurance department’s statement. ‘
Temporary disability compensation totaled $96,838 for Kilcher from 2019 to 2021. Kilcher had worked on “Yellowstone” for several months in 2019 while she claimed to be incapacitated, according to an investigation conducted by the department.
Records reveal she return to the doctor and began claiming disability benefits just five days after her last appearance on the show,” the statement read.
In May, Kilcher was convicted on the allegations, according to a statement. Attorney Michael Becker stated that Kilcher was a guest in a production car at the time of her injuries.

Doctors from outside the insurance company have confirmed her injury and right to compensation. Throughout her treatment, Ms. Kilcher was open and honest with her doctors and caretakers, and she never accepted things she didn’t think she was entitled to, Becker said.
She will “aggressively defend herself and asks that she should be given the presumption of innocent,” Becker added.
