A week after it was originally scheduled to air, World Trigger: Season 3‘s last episode has finally been made available. Anime fans are now wondering if Toei Animation intends to revive the series for a fourth season. So, without further ado, here is what you need to know.
The anime version of Daisuke Ashihara’s manga, World Trigger, was produced by Toei Animation. When World Trigger’s first season debuted in 2014, it had roughly 70 episodes. It was produced by Toei Animation. Since its beginning, the season was well-received by the community.
When the show was revived in 2021, the original cast was back in place to reprise their roles. It’s also over with the third season after a total of 14 fantastic episodes.
Will There Be A Fourth Season Of World Trigger?
Toei Animation has not yet made an official announcement about World Trigger Season 4 when this piece was written. It’s possible that the Japanese animation may be revived for a second season, but it’s unlikely.
The third season of World Trigger, like the previous two, was warmly welcomed by anime enthusiasts. Season 3 is, according to some fans, the greatest season of the program thus far. Toei Animation had originally planned to broadcast the second season of World Trigger but instead opted to go with a whole new season (Via: Monster and Critics). However, the new season presently has an 8.22/10 rating on the Anime list based on more than 10,000 votes.
If Toei Animation decided to end the series after just three seasons, that would be ridiculous.
Season 3 may have adapted the tale up to and including Volume 22 of the manga, according to certain accounts. The studio has enough content for a second season of World Trigger when the current 24 volumes have been released.
World Trigger Season 4 Release Date
The release date for the next season will have to wait until Toei makes an official announcement. While it is possible that a new season might be released by the end of 2022 or the beginning of 2023 if the studio decides to bring back the series.
The third season of World Trigger was published within a few months after Season 2. It’s possible that, if next season’s episode count stays below 15, the studio will bring us the program in under a year.
Previous Season Recap!
World Trigger is primarily concerned with the continuous conflict between mankind and a race of extraterrestrial warriors known as Neighbors. The National Defense Agency, often known as Border, enters Earth’s orbit to defend people. As a result, a battle erupted between the two letters. A young kid enters the narrative four years after the Neighbors first emerge. Yuma Kuga is a humanoid Neighbor who is keeping his actual identity a secret from the Border Patrol.
Yuga accepts Osamu’s offer of assistance in disguising his true identity from the Border officers, who know he is a C-class Border trainee. The tale progressed through the Large-Scale Invasion Arc and B-Rank War Arc during the Border Saga. However, the final arc was unable to be resolved in the third season. This year’s Tamakoma Second teams will continue to compete for a spot among the top two B-ranking teams in the coming season.
To begin, World Trigger’s fourth season will wrap up the loose ends of the B-Rank Wars Arc – Part II. After the Middle Group Final Round, the match’s victors will be announced and the final standings will be determined. The story’s Expedition Selection Exam Arc will begin with this chapter’s conclusion. The manga has only released about seventeen chapters in this arc as of this writing. The second-place finish for Tamakoma-2 means that the narrative will continue. Final results will be announced when the mid-tier match has begun.
For the Yuba Squad to keep their B-Rank status, they will face off against a number of other teams. The Away missions begin to pile up as soon as the squad arrives at the Expedition Selection Exam Center. Despite the seriousness of the situation, both Osamu and Jin appear to be aware that they still have a long road ahead of them. What is going on with the Border teams will also be a focus of World Trigger Season 4.
Is There A Film Project In The Works?
Fans were dubious when Toei Animation revealed the two last-minute episodes for the third season. The statement came as a surprise, given that there was only one mid-tier action scene left in the season. In the meanwhile, the show might have made room for a new film project. This would complete Season 3’s remaining narrative while also giving the show’s creators some breathing room to gather fresh content for Season 4.
This does not mean that a movie is out of the question. It’s possible to make a film based on the Expedition Selection Exam Arc. However, this is only a concept that has been circulating in Reddit and Twitter discussion threads. There has been no official word on whether or not a movie will be made.
