After hearing of the death of Chadwick Boseman, the actor who brought her father’s story to life, Boseman’s daughter Jackie Robinson did what she could to share some heartwarming thoughts about her father’s honor.
The actress who played Ramonda in Black Panther, the mother of Chadwick Boseman and superhero Tchaikovsky, said it was a challenge to surpass the success of the original 2018 film. Still, she believed in the cast and crew.
Marvel boss Kevin Feige is more than impressed with the actor’s new Black Panther film and believes fans will be too.
After Black Panther’s release in February 2018, Feige said there were “many, many stories to tell” about the film, that he wanted director and co-writer Ryan Coogler to return for a possible sequel that Marvel Studios wanted to keep the creative team as long as possible and that Alan F.
Horn, chairman of Walt Disney Studios, felt that it was too early to discuss a sequel but was optimistic about the director’s desire to return as director.
Plans After Chadwick Boseman Death
Plans changed for the sequel in August 2020 when Black Panther star Chadwick Boseman died of colon cancer, and Marvel Studios decided not to recast his role as TChalla.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Lupita Nyongo (spy Nakia, Letitia Wright, Tchalla’s sister), Shuri Winston (Duke Jabari, Mbaku tribal leader), Angela Bassett (Tchalla’s mother Ramonda) will reprise her role as Wakanda. In contrast, CinemaBlend’s Danai Gurira (Okoye, leader of elite soldier Dora Milaje) will reprise her role.
In December, Marvel Studios director Kevin Feige declared that the film would not be re-released as Black Panther following Boseman’s death in August after battling colon cancer.
In the original Black Panther movie, Winston Duke played Mbaku as TChalla alongside the late Chadwick Boseman. Duke was expected to return to the role, but that has not been confirmed for the actor.
Boseman’s character died during pre-production of the sequel after a year-long battle with cancer. Still, the Marvel Studios filmmakers agreed to continue working on the film in his memory.

In December, Marvel President Kevin Feige announced that Black Panther would not be re-created with the latest Chadwick Boseman-TChalla character for the highly anticipated sequel to the film.
Executive producer Victoria Alonso said Boseman’s character would not be added to the CGI either. We already knew the character wouldn’t be in Wakanda, but Feige said he wouldn’t remake the personality or insert Wakanda into the movie with CGI.
Despite the colossal success of the original Black Panther, Marvel never seemed to be in a hurry to make a sequel, especially after the sad death of its star Chadwick Boseman after a four-year battle with cancer.
After Boseman kept his cancer diagnosis a secret, Coogler worked on a script in which the actor should have reprised his role as TChalla. He added that while his character was kept away from the film by the director, he was the one working to keep it running.
