After hitting the comedian onscreen at the 2022 Academy Awards, Will Smith is speaking directly to Chris Rock for the first time ever on camera. Almost exactly four months after Will, now 53, struck Rock, now 57, in the face on stage at the Oscars, the actor posted a video to his social media accounts on Friday in which he apologizes to Rock and says, “I’m here whenever you’re ready to talk.”

I apologize for my actions, and I’m available to speak with you anytime you’re ready.”

Asked about not apologizing to Rock during his Oscars acceptance speech, Will revealed, “By that moment, I’d lost all sense of reality.
