Depp and his ex-wife Amber Heard’s multimillion-dollar defamation dispute has dominated headlines all year.
After a nearly seven-week trial in Virginia, during which Heard accused Depp of domestic violence and s*xual assault, the jury found that Heard had defamed Depp on all counts and awarded Depp $10.35 million in damages. Heard lost the defamation case but won $2 million in her countersuit after a jury determined that Depp had defamed her through his lawyer. While the jury deliberated, Depp and Beck performed onstage in another country.
According to the reports, videos from Beck’s concert in Sheffield, England, have surfaced online, showing Depp, guitar in hand, rocking out on stage. The tapes indicated that in 2020, Depp and Beck performed their duet “Isolation.”
Two of the ballads on Beck’s new album “18,” apparently written by Depp, seem to address the high-profile case.
While racing, “Depp sings, “Sad Motherf—-kin’ Parade; you’re sitting there like a dog with a seven-year itch… A penny from me wouldn’t even make it to your fingers.”
Beck and Depp reportedly collaborated on the album’s title, as reported by The Sunday Times. Beck remarked that he and Johnny’s “youthful vitality and imagination” were “truly sparked” after they began playing together. The album’s title stemmed from an inside joke: “We felt like we were 18 again.”
Depp joined the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday as a moon man, if only virtually. Heard’s sister reacted to his arrival by describing him as “disgusting” and “obviously desperate.”
