The anti-organized crime unit’s prosecutors have stated that the brothers were supposed to be held in custody for a period of twenty-four hours.
The Directorate for Investigating Organized Crime and Terrorism Unit in Romania has published a statement, however they have refrained from directly naming the brothers. It was reported that two citizens of the United Kingdom and two citizens of Romania were suspected of being members of a criminal organisation concerned with the trafficking of human beings.
Reports indicate that the prosecutors made the following allegation: “The four suspects… appear to have constructed an organized crime gang with the intention of recruiting, housing, and exploiting women.”
