There is only one game left for Georgia to play until they reach the pinnacle of college football: a victory over No. 3 TCU would make the top-ranked Bulldogs the first team to repeat as national champions since Alabama in 2011 and 2012.

Without their overwhelming 51-45 victory over No. 2 Michigan in their Fiesta Bowl semifinal, they would not have been able to go to the championship game.
On the other hand, the top-ranked Georgia Bulldogs nearly avoided defeat against the fourth-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes to advance to the championship game at SoFi Stadium. The fourth-ranked Buckeyes tried their hardest to beat the fifth-ranked Bulldogs, but Noah Ruggles missed the field goal as time ran out, which allowed the Bulldogs to move on to the championship game and win the Peach Bowl.
Now everything is in place for Kirby Smart, Stetson Bennett, Jalen Carter, and the rest of the team to win their second national championship in a row. Will Sonny Dykes, Max Duggan, and TCU, a team that has battled and clawed its way to win all season, be able to pull off one more triumph? Or will Georgia’s ascension to the top spot among college football’s most prestigious programs still be incomplete?
