The Vampire Diaries will be available on Netflix in six locations as of August 2022, including:
- Netflix is available in Australia and New Zealand (despite having a removal warning for last January)
- Indian Netflix
- Streaming service Netflix
- Netflix has a presence in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
- Netflix in the US
Warner Bros. Television is claiming back its shows from Netflix and other providers, so The Vampire Diaries will eventually move to HBO Max.
Is The Vampire Diaries Leaving Netflix In The United States In 2022, September?
In September 2022, Netflix will remove The Vampire Diaries from its lineup. When the final season of The Vampire Diaries was released on Netflix in March of 2013, fans expected it to disappear from the service five years later, in March of 2022. However, in February, we learned that Netflix would not be able to remove all of The CW’s licensed content from the service.
When we learned that The Originals will be departing Netflix on July 1, 2022, it was even more strange. A year earlier than we had expected (five years after the final season, in this instance, was in August 2023).

“Your Last Day to Watch on Netflix” is September 3rd, and the show will be withdrawn at midnight on September 4th, according to the expiration notice on Netflix’s website. The Vampire Diaries: Season Finale is available on Netflix only for one more day. Netflix’s The Vampire Diaries has received a removal notice.
Are The Vampire Diaries Going To Be Taken Off Netflix Internationally?
The Vampire Diaries is, of course, available on Netflix in other countries. The show was briefly removed from Netflix UK, however, it was shortly added back in. All eight seasons of the show could end in 2023 if no new agreement is made to keep them running as per our current intel. The show is due for renewal again on January 1st, 2023.
Netflix’s expiration dates for India and Australia are now set for December 31st, 2023, so you have plenty of time to enjoy the content you’ve purchased.
