The stylish new series Vampire Academy is about a school where vampires and their best guards learn how to do things. This new Peacock series for young adults was created by Julie Plec the creator of hit shows like The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, and Legacies.
The show is shot on location in Spain, and the costumes and sets are very fancy. It’s a feast for the eyes, and when paired with the intense storylines of the show, it’s easy to get hooked. What to Watch talked to the cast of Vampire Academy, and they’re all very excited for fans to see the show.
André Dae Kim said TV vampires are in a new era. “We play in a vampire-filled environment. Nobody’s involved. We aren’t secretive “saying “Because it’s real, different storylines can unfold.” Without hiding, attention moves. “Relationships, politics, and fighting dominate. World changes. Who knows, maybe people will interact more in the future, but that will be different.”
Richards concurs. “This is a vampire’s home. We’re not avoiding humanity. Our government and society. Unique show.”
Kieron Moore said the books move beyond Rose’s perspective. “There’s something fresh, something sophisticated, and it’s this sense that we’re challenging human issues,” he said. “Fantasy and vampires bring danger, s*xiness, and excitement. Julie Plec’s Comic-Con comment remained with me. She said, “I’ve always been fascinated by vampires condemned to live forever, and it makes me wonder, with whom?” I remember that.”

The performers have a lot to say about the dichotomy of their characters’ external appearances against the things they seek to keep hidden.
“There’s the identity everyone gives you and your own identity,” Kim said. “Both [Christian and Dimitri] struggle with it, and that’s a continuous theme throughout the show.” Daniela Nieves: “Rose does that often.” I think Rose has kept a lot of information from Lissa to protect her during their friendship.
Stringer agreed. “She’ll do whatever she can to be there for Lissa and protect her,” she stated. Toward the end, Rose goes through something awful and can’t be there for Lissa. She says Lissa wants to help Rose with all her support. “Their relationship fluctuates. And it’s fascinating.”
“There’s something for everyone. I just want viewers to have fun “explained Richards. “I enjoy the show. Rich characters. Unique world I guarantee you’ve never seen a world like this show’s costumes, settings, and seven-month shoot in Spain. It should be popular.”

The first episode of the first season of Vampire Academy aired in the US on Peacock on September 15.
