Aduba’s acting career began in 2003, when she received a Helen Hayes Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Play for her portrayal in Translations of Xhosa at the Olney Theatre Center for the Arts. She first played the role of Amphiarus in The Seven in 2006 at New York Theatre Workshop and then again in 2008 at La Jolla Playhouse.
