One thing that the United Kingdom always does well on TV is good crime procedurals. There are a lot of British crime dramas out there for fans of the genre to check out, like “Broadchurch,” which stars David Tennant and Olivia Coleman, and “Silent Witness,” which started airing in 1996 and has 23 seasons and counting. There are always new dramas coming out, but the shows that are still going strong tend to have a lot of fans and stay at the top of the ratings, like “Line of Duty” on BBC and “Unforgotten” on ITV.
Starting in 2015, the second series is about a group of detectives in London who work on old cases. Cassie Stuart (Nicola Walker) and Sunil “Sunny” Khan are the two main characters (Sanjeev Bhaskar). Each season of “Unforgotten” is about a new cold case that comes up after a body is found. Cassie and Sunny follow them as they try to figure out what happened and find the people who did it. It’s 17 years old and the boy’s body parts were found during the demolition of a house. At the same time, there are personal changes in the lives of the two of them. Seasons 3 and 4 focus on Cassie’s relationship with her father after he gets dementia.
It looks like “Unforgotten” Season 5 is going to be even better than Season 4.
Unforgotten Season 5 Release Date:
Season 1 of “Unforgotten” came out in October 2015, Season 2 came out in January 2017, and Season 3 came out a little later in July 2018. There are usually 15 months between the release of each season of “Unforgotten.” Season 4 of “Unforgotten” was a lot affected by the pandemic and filming restrictions, which caused the premiere date to be pushed back until February 22, 2021. In good news for fans of the popular show, “Unforgotten” has already been resurrected for a fifth season, writer Chris Lang announced on Twitter right after the Season 4 finale of the show.
Delighted to be able to finally tell you that the brilliant @SineadKeenan will be joining the gorgeous @TVSanjeev to play D.C.I Jessica 'Jessie' James to his D.I. Sunil 'Sunny' Khan in #Unforgotten 5. Shooting started…about an hour ago. How lucky are we. pic.twitter.com/Alqo4vWROE

With many TV shows getting back to their normal production schedules, it can be assumed that “Unforgotten” will do the same. There will be a new episode of the intense crime show in late spring or early summer of 2022. “Unforgotten” fans should keep in mind that the industry could face problems again in late 2021 or beyond, which could delay the release of the next season. As of right now, everything looks to be going well.
Unforgotten Season 5 Release Plot:
Fourth season: Matthew Walsh, a man who was murdered, had his head cut off and was found in the freezer of a garbage can. When Cassie was sick, she had a mental breakdown because of the dark case from the third season. She had to come back to work from sick leave. Along with that, she has to deal with the changes in her relationship with her father after he was found to have dementia. A lot of people think Sunny is happy at work and with Sal, but he has a good reason to be afraid of Cassie.

True events start to emerge in Season 4, which show that Walsh wasn’t as innocent as he seemed. He committed a lot of serious crimes just before his death. But it was Stephen Barton (Andy Nyman), the brother of Dean Barton (Andy Nyman), who was killed by Stephen. That led Dean to kill Walsh. Cassie is hit by a speeding car just before the truth is revealed and the guilty people are arrested. She has a serious head injury. Sunny and the doctors try to save her, but she dies during surgery.
They will be sad about Cassie’s death, but they will also have to get used to having a new partner and a new job (whoever that may be). It’s going to be hard, but the detectives have to keep working. It’s not clear what kind of case they’ll have in Season 5. People who watch PBS’ Masterpiece 50 recently talked to Lang about his work “It’s the most political part of the storey so far, with “political” written with a small “p.” It really talks about how the UK is politically, and it introduces a new partner in crime for him, which is just lovely and fun. It’s a woman, and she’s very different from Cassie. That’s about all I can say about it. A lot has changed in her life. Younger: She is. She’s in charge again.”
Unforgotten Season 5 Cast:
Sanjeev will reprise his role as DI Sunny in the new series. Sinéad, the newest member of the cast, will also be there. It’s sad that Nicola won’t be back after her character died tragically in season four.
Delighted @ITV has recommissioned @UnforgottenTV & more of @ChrisLangWriter’s fab writing. I’ll continue to watch & learn from #NicolaWalker as I’ve done these past 5 years, glowing with pride as my friend excels in everything she does. She’s a personal & national treasure 🙏🏽♥️

To play Sunny’s police colleagues, we expect Jordan Long to return as DS Murray Boulting. Lewis Reeves as DC Jake Collier, Carolina Main as DS Fran Lingley, Georgia Mackenzie as Dr. Leanne Balcombe, and Pippa Nixon as DC Karen Willetts will also be back for the next season. There is a good chance that Michelle Bonnard, who plays Sunny’s now-fiancee, will also show up on the show.
