Donald Trump, a former US president, was prohibited by a New York judge on Monday from discussing the hush money issue on social media.
Judge Juan Merchan reportedly concurred with Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg so that before the case gets to trial, Mr. Trump might publicly disclose additional evidence from the prosecution.
Last week, the judge requested that the prosecution and defense settle on a particular trial date for February or March of the following year. After the date is set, all parties, including Mr. Trump, should refrain from planning any additional events, according to Judge Merchan.
According to the source, the judge stated in a new order on Monday night that “any materials and information provided by the People to the Defense in accordance with their discovery obligations … shall be used solely to prepare a defense in this matter”, according to the outlet.

According to Mr. Merchan’s order, anyone with access to the evidence “shall not copy, disseminate or disclose”the material to third parties, including social media platforms, “without prior approval from the court.”
Mr. Trump has also been restricted from reviewing “forensic images of witness cell phones”. However, his lawyers can show him “approved portions” of the images after getting the judge’s permission.
Mr. Trump refuted the allegations that he gave Michael Cohen, his former attorney, reimbursements for the $130,000 he had given to p*rn star Stormy Daniels.
The 2016 payments, according to the prosecution, were made to silence Daniels regarding s*x she allegedly had with the former President years earlier.
Donald Trump is the first US President—past or present—to be accused of a crime. The 76-year-old Republican is up against several legal obstacles as he seeks reelection to the White House in the upcoming election, including criminal prosecution.
