Trinity Backus, a teenager from California who has been reported missing since Thursday, reportedly left her aunt’s house wearing her pyjamas and barefoot on that day, and her family has not heard from her or seen her since then.

“We are bewildered, miserable, and brokenhearted… We were frantic with worry, “Ashley Bjorklund, the young woman’s aunt, spoke to News Digital about the incident.

The night that Backus went missing, she was at Bjorklund’s house on Kentucky Ravine Road in Nevada City, California, where she was spending the night with a friend as part of a sleepover. The property is twelve acres in size.

According to a post made on Facebook by the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office on Thursday, the 16-year-old ran away from the residence at approximately 10:30 p.m. PT was dressed for bed in pyjamas and a burgundy robe.

According to Bjorklund, the young man, who was 16 at the time, was last seen wearing “a pair of socks, light jeans, and a light flannel.”

Backus is said to stand at approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall and weigh close to 130 pounds. Her eyes are green, and her hair is a fiery red. Backus was never one to run away from home, according to her aunt, who said that she was “extremely responsible.” She did not have a large number of followers on her many social media accounts, but the ones she did have were solid pals.

Bjorklund praised her intelligence, saying, “She’s got a fantastic head on her shoulders.” She turned out to be a remarkable adult human being. According to Bjorklund, Backus’ buddy who slept over at Bjorklund’s house the night of the overnight does not know where Backus disappeared during the night of the sleepover and initially assumed that grownups were overreacting to the situation.

Bjorklund said of the 16-year-friend olds that “she thought Trinity was coming back,” and she added that her friend didn’t immediately seem to comprehend the “severity of the issue.” During its search for Backus, the sheriff’s office has been assisted in its efforts by several other law enforcement agencies in the surrounding area, as well as by the Nevada County Sheriff’s Search & Rescue.

The area bounded by Kentucky Ravine Road, Starduster Drive, Excelsior Road, and Bitney Springs is currently the focus of active searches for Backus. Bjorklund added that search dogs picked up a scent of Backus throughout the perimeter of her property.

On Thursday evening, law enforcement officials began an airborne search for the young person using an aircraft equipped with infrared capabilities.
