The UN says $6B From The World's Richest Persons Can Solve the Present Hunger Crisis

David Beasley the director of the Un’s World Food Programme said Billionaires should come up and help people.

Beasley said $6 billion would help 42 million who are “literally going to die if we don’t reach them.”

Elon Musk says he will sell his Tesla stock if the UN proves how the money can solve the hunger needs.

Musk also said he would sell his Tesla stock and donate it to the UN if they can prove that his small percentage of income can solve the world’s hunger emergency.

This is the response of Musk to the comments by David Beasley, the director of the United Nation’s World Food Programme, who said CNN’s Connect the World at the end of the weekend that a donation worth $6 billion from richest persons like Musk and Bezos  can  help 42 million persons who are “literally going to die if we don’t reach them.”

Elon Musk is right now one of the world’s richest men and the first individual whose net worth is $300 billion, as stated by the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. Musk’s net worth is $311 billion, so $6 billion is 2 percent of his wealth, this kind of donation can make him the second billionaire, Jeff Bezos at least $100 billion.

Musk is claiming that if the $6 billion amount from his net worth can solve the hunger crisis that he would sell his Tesla Stock only if World Food Programme can prove it.

Beasley responded to Musk by tweeting: “I can assure you that we have the systems in place for transparency and open source accounting. Your team can review and work with us to be totally confident of such.”

World Food Programme’s Beasley has been continuously calling billionaires, and asking them for help and solving the hunger crisis of the world.

“It’s not complicated. I’m not asking them to do this every day, every week, every year,” Beasley said during his appearance on CNN.

“The top 400 billionaires in the United States, the net-worth increase was $1.8 trillion in the past year,” he continued. “All I’m asking for is .36% of your net-worth increase. I’m for people making money, but God knows I’m all for you helping people who are in great need right now. The world is in trouble.”
