Season 1 featured a likeable ensemble operating inside the framework of an engrossing sci-fi plot. One of the most unexpected characteristics of the series is its unrelenting willingness to kill off the key characters in order to maintain narrative momentum. While viewers may not have been ready to say goodbye to the characters they had grown to love, the storey technique conveyed the impression that no one was safe. Captain Han was one of the most notable casualties (Gong Yoo). His ultimate heroic effort saves Luna (Si-ah Kim) and the two remaining crew members, but his closing moments demonstrate Gong Yoo’s abilities as a performer.

In the end, the moon base was entirely submerged in lunar water, with only Dr. Song Ji-An, Dr. Hong Ga-Young, and Luna surviving to be picked up by the rescue crew. Luna may be the key to preserving humanity from the desertified planet’s shortage of water, but that also means she may be in grave danger.
Every major government will be battling for this game-changing water supply, and after watching the first run, viewers already know the dark depths one will go to in order to get the new element that might mean the difference between survival and extinction.
The series’ concluding moments do set things up for a second season, but it might also end here, leaving the rest of the storey up to the viewers’ imaginations. Whatever happens, if The Silent Sea season 2 is made, it will undoubtedly be a crazy trip, potentially even surpassing the excitement of the first instalment.

Who is in the cast of The Silent Sea season 2?
When the cast of The Silent Sea was originally announced, fans were ecstatic to see Sense8’s Bae Doona and Squid Game performers like Heo Sung-tae and Gong Yoo in the mix. Unfortunately, not all of them are expected to return for season two.
After all, by the end of the finale, the vast majority of the characters had dead. In fact, as the credits rolled, only three people remained: Doctor Song (Bae Doona), Doctor Hong (Kim Sun-young), and Luna (Kim Si-A).
Even Captain Han perished in a gallant sacrifice, which means that famed actor Gong Yoo won’t be returning until flashbacks help him sneak in for a cameo. All of this means that season two will have a whole new cast in order to continue the plot beyond the events of season one.
