As part of Phase 5 of the MCU, “The Marvels,” formerly known as “Captain Marvel 2,” will bring together several of the most fearsome female superheroes from the Marvel universe.
Fans were thrilled with the first teaser for the movie, which was exclusively unveiled at the D23 Expo in September 2022 and later made public on April 11. It featured the powerful trio of Monica Rambeau, Kamala Khan, and Carol Danvers (a.k.a. Captain Marvel, Ms. Marvel, and Ms. Marvel).
“There’s something incredibly powerful about witnessing Monica, Kamala, and Carol standing together in a single frame. It’s spine-tingling. They complement each other brilliantly, and they all share unique connections with one another,” Marvel president Kevin Feige exclaimed with pleasure.
The wait has been worth it in every way. In January 2020, it was announced that a sequel was in the works, with Megan McDonnell, one of the WandaVision writers from the Disney+ MCU series, writing the story.
The co-writers and co-directors of Captain Marvel, Ryan Fleck and Anna Boden, were replaced by Candyman director Nia DaCosta, which marked a significant departure from the first movie. Being the first time a Black woman was chosen to helm one of Marvel’s films, this choice represented a much-needed milestone for the company.
What can we thus anticipate from The Marvels? Here is all the information you require.
The Marvels Release Date
The release day for The Marvels was initially set for July 28th, 2023. But it was postponed by four months, to November 10, 2023. This new date is anticipated to be the final modification in the sequel’s release schedule.
According to the movie’s initial poster, the Marvels will debut on November 10, 2023.

Due to a reorganization of the MCU slate, the movie’s release date was ultimately moved back to February 17, 2023, from its initial target date of July 20, 2022. The Marvels and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania switched places in April 2022 before deciding on the current release date.
If nothing unexpected happens, the November release date should stand. The movie was finished filming in May 2022, and some further shooting occurred in August.
On April 11, 2023, the first trailer for The Marvels was published; if you missed it, watch it now.
The Marvels Plot
Carol Danvers, or Captain Marvel, has avenged the Supreme Intelligence and recovered her identity from the oppressive Kree. However, unanticipated consequences force Carol to bear the weight of a universe in disarray.
“When her duties send her to an anomalous wormhole linked to a Kree revolutionary, her powers become entangled with that of Jersey City super-fan, Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel, and Carol’s estranged niece Captain Monica Rambeau. Together, this unlikely trio must team up and learn to work in concert to save the universe as ‘The Marvels.’”

In addition, the final scene of the Ms Marvel TV series provides the most apparent clue as to what the movie would centre on. The bangle Kamala Khan wears, from which she ostensibly derives her powers, starts to shine brightly in the very last seconds of the show before she is launched backwards into a heap of clothing.
When Carol Danvers, played by Brie Larson, recognizes her circumstances, it turns out to be her rather than Khan emerging from the pile.
Their connection will probably be a source of conflict and narrative focus in this movie because WandaVision has hinted that Monica Rambeau is angry that Carol Danvers wasn’t there more to help look after her mother, Maria Rambeau.
