The Afterparty season 2 Plotline
The second season of The Afterparty will see Danner investigate a new case at a wedding’s afterparty. This may be the wedding of Aniq and Zoe after all. In the end, they had a fling in the first season finale. Maggie, the daughter of Brett and Zoe, appeared in the finale, which was titled “Maggie.” Danner was given a detailed account of Aniq’s cat face and Jennifer #2’s wetness by the little girl (her water broke, so she went to the hospital).
Danner’s claim that she knows who the killer is is bolstered by Maggie’s account. It’s either Aniq, Brett, or Walt. Nonetheless, Walt was in the bathroom plotting out his streaking mission in the privacy of his bathroom. Brett was seen on the driveway at the time of the murder by Aniq. As Aniq prepares to face the music, he finds that the closet has always been closed in every version of the narrative. While checking the drawings on his face, he saw that it was open.
Yasper had been lurking in the nooks and crannies of the room. Xavier’s fame and the fact that he didn’t bless Yasper’s track made him bitter. Duet with the song’s lyrics that were stolen from him after his death was released as an after-the-fact duet.
Danner points out that the A/V technician might have easily gotten Xavier’s password when Yasper brings up his texts with the deceased pop star. It becomes clear that Yasper may have used Xavier’s phone to remove the security footage, as Aniq realizes. When Yasper’s phone is found in his pocket, he’s caught.
Danner gloats to her commander and to her archenemy, Detective Germain, over her victory. While Aniq and Zoe go out for breakfast, the others are at home. Pulling to the side of the road, she wonders aloud when he’ll make a move. When Walt begs for a ride home, they kiss, only to be interrupted by him. This after-party is ended now that the investigation is closed and Yasper appears to be headed to prison. Danner’s wedding bells soon change into police sirens, but he’s not alone.
