When Does Sunday Night Football Start?
The NFL games on Sunday Night Football will stay at about the same time as usual. The network’s Wild Card weekend games will start at 8:15 pm ET/5:15 pm PT. But on January 14-15, there are two games, one on Saturday and one on Sunday.
Here is what time NBC’s Wild Card games will be on:
Saturday, January 14
- Los Angeles Chargers vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, 8:15 pm ET/5:15 pm PT
Sunday, January 15
- Baltimore Ravens vs. Cincinnati Bengals, 8:15 pm ET/5:15 pm PT
The Los Angeles Chargers Will Play The Jacksonville Jaguars
In week 3 of the NFL regular season, the Chargers and the Jaguars played. The Jaguars beat the Chargers 38-10 in Los Angeles. Can the Chargers get back at the Jacksonville Jaguars?
One thing to know about that game for the Chargers is that quarterback Justin Herbert wasn’t playing at full strength because he had hurt his ribs the week before, and other key players like Keenan Allen were also out. Herbert is feeling better, and Allen is back, but the Chargers still have some injury worries because receiver Mike Williams is questionable for the game.
Even with all of those injuries, the Chargers had one of the top 10 offenses during the regular season. The passing game was a big part of that. The defense was more average, but they have some dangerous players, like Khalil Mack and Joey Bosa, who can rush the quarterback.
The Jaguars won the AFC South by going on a five-game winning streak at the end of the regular season. The Jaguars, led by their second-year quarterback Trevor Lawrence, came in second in total offense, just behind the Chargers. However, they have a more balanced offense that uses both the run and the pass. In the same way, the Jaguars’ defense wasn’t anything to write home about, but they made a few big plays that helped them make the playoffs.
It seems like a pretty fair fight. Vegas thinks it’s a close call, but the Chargers have a slight advantage. I hope the game will be good and not another blowout.
A Preview Of The Baltimore Ravens Vs. Cincinnati Bengals Game
We just had this game in week 18, but here we are again, with the Cincinnati Bengals going to Baltimore to play the Ravens. The two teams from the AFC North split their season series, so this is the third and final game.
The most important thing for the Ravens is that their star quarterback, Lamar Jackson, will not be able to play because he hurt his knee. The Ravens are 3-3 without Jackson this season, but they are scoring under 10 points per game on average when he isn’t playing.
As of January 13, they don’t know if backup quarterback Tyler Huntley will even play or if they’ll have to go with third-stringer Anthony Brow (who did start against the Bengals in week 18). JK Dobbins will be back for this game, but will that be enough for the Ravens to keep up with the dangerous Bengals offense?
During the regular season, the Cincinnati offense was among the best in the league. Joe Burrow threw a lot to Jamar Chase, Tee Higgins, and Tyler Boyd, and Joe Mixon also got some touches. That’s a plus for the Bengals since the Ravens’ pass defense was near the bottom of the league. The Bengals’ offensive tackle La’el Collins is out for the season because of an injury. Still, most people think the Bengals are the best bet to move on to the next round.
