Body Camera Footage Shows A Police Officer Shoot And Kill A Middle School Student During Pick-up

Student Stabbed At Francisco Middle School In S.F

Just before 1 p.m., a student was stabbed at Francisco Middle School on the 2100 block of Powell Street in the North Beach neighborhood. San Francisco police confirmed that they had detained a minor at the school.

Officers say that a 12-year-old student was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening. Sources say that the student was stabbed in the back with a kitchen knife in the school library after a fight over a video game.

The school was put on lockout for a short time, but administrators say there is no immediate danger to the safety of the students.

Some parents picked up their kids early, but many stayed for the rest of lunch and afternoon classes.

Laura Dudnick, who spoke for the San Francisco Unified School District after the stabbing, said all the proper steps were taken. She said that this afternoon at Francisco Middle School, there is no real threat.

ABC7 News asked Dudnick what else was done to ensure the kids were safe.

“Francisco Middle School and all of our middle schools have many wellness supports available for students, so we know that coming out of the pandemic this has been a very difficult time for students and schools are working to build their communities,” Dudnick said.
