Severance Recap: Final Episode
Dylan is on the other end of the spectrum. He’s always making fun of what they do, but he still does his job without complaint. People on the Optics team see them again in the corridor. He’s quick to get angry, and he yells abuse at them. There are rumors that there was some kind of uprising. This makes Dylan wary of what he hears. If that’s the case, it would explain why each group is so different. It’s also clear that any uprising would not be one department taking over, but each department coming together against their employer.
Then, as we find out, Cobel isn’t even close to the top of the chain. She’s getting told off on a conference call that she doesn’t even know about. Petey’s “reintegration” is a big deal to them, but it shouldn’t be a big deal for much longer. Because of his “reintegration sickness,” things like time passing by and coughing up blood happen all the time for him (ok maybe not worse, but still no fun). When he thinks back to his childhood, he thinks of his early days in the severed basement as if they were. This is because the two parts of his life are next to each other.
In true thriller style, he mumbles some words (“Sunset Park”) and suggests to Mark that there is a bigger mystery going on, but he can’t tell him about it right now. A cell phone and the knowledge that their job is to kill people. There is a department down in the basement that doesn’t have any other half of the people who work there. Everyone is a prisoner, but some people are more than others.

Severance Season 2 Expected Plotline
Severance begins to investigate the psychological effects of the severed memory on the employees who travel to and from the Lumon office on their route to and from work. Erickson raised the possibility of further questions being raised by the process. Those that aren’t addressed in Severance Season 1 may very well be addressed in Severance Season 2.
“I know Dan has formulated another season,” Stiller said. “And I’m hoping that season if Apple should go forward and make a second season which we hope, but that second season will answer unanswered questions from the first season enough but also pose other questions. From what he’s told us about the second season, what we’ve talked about, the ending of that season poses even more questions. It’s at least another two seasons should we be able to do it.”
“One of the most interesting things is we’re in such an insular space here,” Erickson said. “How would this technology affect other things? Dating, relationships, education, religion, the military, all sorts of things. There’s just so much of a world to build here, and I think that we’re just now starting to see the cracks in the Lumon world and see what might be beyond in the greater world.”
