Raising Dion is the second superhero series to come out of Netflix, following in the steps of Marvel’s Jessica Jones. Other series based on comic books include The CW’s Arrow, Black Lightning, The Flash, and AMC’s critically-acclaimed The Walking Dead.
The series was created by Dennis Liu, who pitched the series to Netflix in early 2016 after reading an article about what would happen if a human had “real-world” superpowers. Here’s everything we know about Raising Dion’s second season so far.

Raising Dion Season 2 Plot
According to Business Insider, Dennis Liu hopes to tap into Dion’s backstory for the second season. In a Twitter post, Liu described a unique scene from season one that will likely play a significant role in the second season.
In the first season, Dion’s mother said she would have a hard time being a single mom after Dion manifested his powers.
But Liu said he has “a great idea to do something even more dramatic this year. Nicole sees that this child needs a father. Not just any father, but the father that would ferociously protect him.”
Given how season one ended, Liu explains, Nicole will have to do some significant detective work. “She’s got all these questions. She’s got to find out who he was before he died because she has no idea. She has to find out who was close to him because she has no idea.
She has to find out who else is out there looking for him because she has no idea. They’re all there, but they’re all secret. She’s got to find them.”

The story revolves around Nicole’s relationship with her son and how he interacts with others, such as his step-father, best friend, and mother’s ghost.
But what of the supernatural aspect of the show? That will come later. “We’ll get to that stuff in season 2,” Liu said in another tweet. “The primary purpose of the series is to explore what it means to be a superhero through this kid’s eyes.”
