Things have calmed down a bit here at Skull Fest after a week with three massive shows in the stadiums if you can even call Skull Fest calm. Here you will read about Pittsburgh Concerts this week include Cody Jinks, Michael Franti, UB40, Kehlani, and Skull Fest.
TUESDAY
Kehlani (UPMC Events Center) is a sensual R&B/neosoul singer from Oakland, California who has been nominated for a Grammy and who has worked with Cardi B, Justin Bieber, and Post Malone, among others; she has also contributed to the soundtracks for “Suicide Squad” and “The Fate of the Furious.”
Her newest album, “Blue Water Road,” is taking her on tour. She has described it as “an emotional voyage, a sexual adventure, and a spiritual journey.” Rico Nasty and Destin Conrat.The Hello Gone Days Tour features emo veterans Dashboard Confessional, fronted by Chris Carrabba, and indie-rock pioneer Andrew McMahon, who branched out from his work in Jack’s Mannequin and Something Corporate.
They will perform in the Wilderness (Stage AE). “All The Truth That I Can Tell” has been hailed as Dashboard’s “most old-school Dashboard-y collection in years,” and the band is now touring in support of the album. In 2009, for a birthday celebration at Belvedere’s in Lawrenceville, a one-day event with a joking name began: Skull Fest. The outlaw country singer from Texas, Cody Jinks, will be performing at the UPMC Events Center in Moon as part of his current tour in support of his 11th studio album, “Mercy,” which was issued with his metal record, “None The Wiser,” with his band Caned By Nod. After the releases of both albums, Jinks said, “Literally, it was being in one studio and walking next door and going from this lovely country song that we’re making to just this incredibly angry metal song, turning a switch.

The event kicks in at 1:30 pm. At 9:30 p.m., UB40 will take the stage, and then Roots of Creation will play the after-party.

Cindystock (Wexford)
Orlando, Florida’s Cat Ridgeway and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania’s Blues Attack, together with Wexford residents Mark Ferrar, Miguel Sague III, and Maura Elyse, will perform at the annual charity event hosted by Cindy and Ted Yates. Admission is $50, which covers the cost of a meal at the buffet and non-alcoholic beverages, with all proceeds going to Cancer Hope.

Here are seven bands, craftsmen, food vendors, period reenactors, children’s activities, and wagon rides at the Laurel Highlands Bluegrass Festival, held annually in Somerset County’s 4,000-acre Laurel Hill State Park.
On Saturday (from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.), you can catch performances by Echo Valley, Nu-Blu, Colebrook Road, and Marshele Bradford Exchange, and on Sunday (from noon to midnight), you can catch shows by the Robert Mabe Band, Midnight Rooster, and Tiger Maple String Band (1-5 p.m. Sunday).
SUNDAY
Franti, a reggae-rocker whose opening slot on the Kenny Chesney tour was repeatedly delayed, will perform at Hartwood Acres’ largest show of the season. “Everyone Deserves Music,” “Say Hey (I Love You),” “Hey Hey Hey,” and “I’m Alive (Life Sounds Like)” are just a few of the tracks that this former member of the Beatnigs and the Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy has released that bring their own brand of brightness. Along with him is the Atlanta hip-hop group Arrested Development, of which Speech is the co-founder and frontman. As of 7:30 PM, the event will start.
