There are few anime that defiantly defy the stereotypical romantic comedy trope of “best buddy loses in love,” but Osamake: Romcom Where The Childhood Friend Won’t Lose is one of those rarities. Even though the title seems to be a spoiler, the anime really has a lot more to offer than simply a look at the connection between the main protagonist and a buddy from his past.
However, the story’s flow becomes raggedy at points when it appears to be only preserving the plot point. Even if the characters become tedious after a while, the anime is still entertaining for those who aren’t searching for a long-term commitment. The animation is based on the popular Japanese light novel series of the same name. Only one season of 12 episodes has been produced thus far.

Osamake Season 2 Storyline
The narrative is based on a story that defies the conventions of anime in every way. For the first time, we get to witness Sueharu Maru, a 17-year-old high school student who has remained alone for the better part of his life. As it happens, Sueharu’s childhood best friend Kuroha Shida is a huge hit at Hozumino High School, where Kuroha attends.
With her enchanting beauty, her enthusiastic appeal, her friendly manner, her outgoing extrovert energy, and her helpful attitude, she’s quickly become a popular member of the school.. Kuroha and Sueharu have lived next door to one another since they were children and have always been close friends. They all want to be Kuroha’s best friend, and they’ll do whatever it takes to get her attention.
A dramatic shift is caused when Kuroha realizes she has a crush on her childhood best buddy Sueharu and wants to start dating him. Eventually, she musters up the guts to tell Sueharu how she really feels about him. Even yet, Kuroha had no idea what was going to happen after it was all said and done.
Even thinking about Kuroha in this way was nearly difficult for Sueharu, and he immediately rejects her request without hesitation. Kuroha’s life was turned upside down when he learned this, as was Sueharu’s, that Kuroha had only ever had romantic aspirations for one person, the one he considered his first love, and that he had never considered anybody else.
Shirokusa Kachi is the object of Sueharu’s desire. Kachi is a really popular and stunningly attractive young lady. It’s not just her looks that make her a school idol; she’s also a fashion icon because of the way she dresses and expresses herself via her writing. The Akutami Award has also gone to her.
In Sueharu’s eyes, she’s beautiful and he wants nothing more than to have a relationship with her. When he happened to run across Kachi at a chance gathering, his thoughts of being with the lady of his dreams began to take shape. When he learns that Kachi, the lady of his dreams, has a boyfriend, all of his hopes and aspirations are shattered.
Likewise, Sueharu’s world is turned upside down when he contemplates what may have occurred if everything had gone according to plan. As he was going through this, Kuroha comes up to him and tells him that he had an idea to get back at Kachi. Then Sueharu and Kuroha embark on a hysterical excursion that sets the plot in motion.
