This section contains major plot twists and spoilers for Only Murders in the Building. Who would’ve predicted that a sitcom centered about a bassoon cleaner would be so popular?
A-list stars Selena Gomez, Martin Short, and Steve Martin teamed up in Murders in the Building, a satirical look at the culture’s preoccupation with real crime. It also featured several stunning residences. It was revealed at the end of the first season’s ten episodes that killed Tim Kono, but the building is still rife with murder.

Only Murders in the Building Season 2 Release Date
Yes! Considering how suspenseful Season 1 was, it would have been devastating if Hulu failed to deliver on its promise of more of the smash hit. Additionally, Hulu revealed that it was the most-watched comedy on the streaming service ever—”by a fair margin.” As a result of Hulu’s announcement on Twitter, Only Murders will return for a second season.
The debut is expected to take place in the second half of 2022, according to rumors, although no official date has been set. During an interview with Elle, Hoffman said that the production would resume again in November 2021.

Only Murders in the Building Ending
A lot of issues were raised and none of them were answered at the season premiere’s ending. The Dimases were not the killers of Tim Kono, as previously thought. Instead, it was Charles’s girlfriend and Arconia resident’s bassoon player, Jan (Amy Ryan), who showed up, mocked after her relationship with Tim didn’t work out.
However, in the last seconds of the episode, we are introduced to a fresh crime: the murder of Bunny, the building manager of the apartment complex. To our shock and horror, we learn that the victim was found stabbed to death with a pair of knitting needles in Oliver’s arms, along with his girlfriend Mabel and boyfriend Charles (Martin).
John Hoffman, the show’s creator, told Entertainment Weekly that Bunny was always going to die in the end. As he put it, “She’s a focal point for every character in the story to appear bad in the end, if that’s who the victim is.”
“As a result, our trio’s presence in the vicinity of her corpse, complete with a knitting needle inserted into her chest, was both dangerous and alluring.
Also, the final line of my proposal to Hulu was, ‘So our investigative trio now find themselves atop suspect in a fresh murder and the subjects of a new podcast that might be coming out, done by their own mentor.’ That was always the plan from when I initially proposed the show to Hulu.”
Only Murders In The Building Season 2 Plotline
In season 2, we can only presume that the detectives will be exonerated and that Bunny’s genuine killer will be found. Do you think Tina Fey’s Cinda Canning (the investigator) will take the lead or will she merely podcast their calamities? It is possible that the charges may be dropped because of their good standing with Detective Williams (Da’Vine Joy Randolph). Will the second season be titled Only Murderers in the Building, following in the footsteps of Cinda’s podcast?
According to Hoffman, season 2 will take the show in a “larger direction” and figuring out why Bunny was at Mabel’s apartment is the key to unlocking the plot.

During an interview with Deadline, Hoffman hinted that Arconia’s backstory might be revealed in the second season. “It’s got some mysteries for sure, and that’s another area we’d want to investigate,” he added. “As far as the value of our built-in real estate terms and who wants to live here and who doesn’t longer, what does that signify for real-world purposes? At the Arconia, things get a whole lot more difficult. Later in Season 2, you’ll find out more about its past.”
Hoffman also told Elle that he thought Mabel would be in more trouble for Bunny’s death than Oliver or Charles because of her role in it. It will, however, allow the program to go deeper into Mabel’s saga.
“They’re all in the hot seat. They’ve all stepped in it, and Mabel is certainly even a bit more in the spotlight,” Hoffman said. “The opportunity that might come from that is what’s intriguing to us as we go into a season two. Mabel’s life is going to get a little bit bigger in season 2.”
