Once Upon A Time Season 8 Release Date Status: Renewed or Cancelled!

once upon a time season 8

In seven seasons, the series “Once Upon a Time” has brought fairy tales into the present. What are the odds for a season 8 of the fantasy series?

“Once Upon a Time” is a mixture of fairy tales, modern fantasy, and drama series. This very special mix was first premiered in 2011 on the American TV channel ABC. The action always takes place in two locations.

The world of fairy tale characters and the real world in a small town in Maine, America. Emma Swan, played by Jennifer Morrison (“Dr. House”), lives in a town called Storybrooke with her son Henry ( Jared Gilmore, “Mad Men”). The two seem to lead a completely normal life until Henry discovers that people living in his hometown have come straight from the world of fairy tales. We tell you how it is about season 8 of “Once Upon a Time.”

Once Upon a Time Season 8: Will the Show Continue?

For a long time, the ABC television series “Once Upon a Time” served as a quota driver and a guarantee of success for the network’s home broadcasting division. However, in recent months, the odds have gotten a little better.

Ultimately, the sixth season came to a close with a major battle between the main heroine Emma Swan and the black fairy. The series’ lead actress Jennifer Morrison announced her departure from the show even before the show was officially renewed for a seventh season on ABC. Both Snow White and Prince Charming, played by Ginnifer Goodwin (Walk the Line) and Josh Dallas (Thor), who were both fan favorites on the show, has also left the production.

‘Once Upon a Time’ is entering its seventh season, which will consist of 22 episodes, and can be considered a “soft reboot,” or a new edition of the show. Because the seventh season jumps forward in time and takes place in Seattle rather than Storybrooke, this is the case. Henry, who is now an adult, and his family are the focus of the story. The fans did not respond positively to this reboot, as evidenced by the precipitous decline in audience ratings. The seventh season of “Once Upon a Time” concluded in May 2018, and it is highly unlikely that the series will return for a season eight.

There is, however, some good news for fans of the series who want to return to the world of Storybrooke in the future. Since the beginning of 2020, all seven seasons have been made available on Disney+.

Once Upon a Time Season 8: When Is the Show Out?

In its first season, the show was rated 4.1 and more than 11 million people watched it. It soon became the network’s most popular show and gained a lot of fans from the crowds it was shown to as well. Pundits were very critical of the show, and the audits were mostly in favor of it. Before season 4, it was loved by everyone. It never had a rating below 3.2 until then. However, the extra storylines turned out to be a big reason why the show went down in season 5. The evaluations took a huge hit and would never be the same again.

A 1.5 rating was a record low for the show’s sixth season. The network decided to pull the shades on the show sooner than planned. The seventh season came to an end with a rating of 0.9, which was a surprise. The last episode of the show was shown on May 18, 2018.

It’s official: Once Upon a Time season 8 has been dropped by ABC, and it won’t be coming back soon.
