The Forest Service of the United States of America has remained highly concerned for the safety of firefighters and the population of the Federal State of California. Consequently, on Monday, it issued an order to close all national forests until further notice, both for the general population and for tourists arriving in the area.
The closure came into effect on the morning of Tuesday, August 31, 2021, and it will end approximately on September 17 of the same year. Likewise, this order includes the closure of all national forests found throughout the Pacific Southwest Region of the region. The Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest, which is close to this area, is the only one that will remain open.
In a statement from the service, one of the regional forest service leaders, Jennifer Eberlein, said: “We do not make this decision lightly, but it is the best decision for public safety.” In addition to this, she added that “It is complicated with the Labor Day weekend approaching when so many people enjoy our national forests.”

The forest service said more than 6,800 wildfires have erupted since mid-July, killing 1.7 million acres in California jurisdictions. They are highly concerned because the forecasts for this season express the same and even worse conditions for the beginning of autumn, which means tremendous losses for the state and paralysis of daily activity, almost entirely.
The National Park Service of the United States of America was in charge of creating a list that indicates the closings and each one of the alerts of the National parks and forests of California. It is publicly available so that the state’s population has full access to the information, which is updated periodically and allows them to know which are the least risky areas of the state.
In addition to this, the partial closure of state parks across the state has been established due to an order established by the Department of Parks and Recreation. People can know the status of the parks and know when they are open or closed, thanks to the online list that is available on the department’s web portal.

Ultimately, the latest update by the department indicated that as of Monday, there would be seven fully closed state parks and another three partially closed.
Final Words:
The state’s population must remain aware of the risks of going out and attending forested areas of the region. In recent years, fires have increased exponentially, and at present, the firefighting and rescue teams cannot cope with the precarious situation.
