According to Grubb, one probable cause why the Metroid Prime trilogy has not yet received a switch-port release is the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on Nintendo’s quality assurance process, as the company could not focus on many games at once.
Grubb added that one of the reasons for the delay was that Nintendo had to conduct quality tests during the pandemic to focus on just one or two big games at a time.
Whatever the reason, Giant Bomb, a precise leaker who regularly reports on the video game industry – believes that Nintendo chose not to launch the trilogy on the Switch because he believes that the company wants to release it with the arrival of Metroid Prime 4.

Grubb suspects that Metroid Prime has been accompanied as a marketing tactic by the arrival of Metroid Prime 4. Still, it is unclear when the game will be released since Nintendo abandoned its advances and restarted development in 2019.

In keeping with the rumor’s final nature of the Metroid Prime trilogy, Grubb commented that it’s challenging to know what fans will see in future Switch ports of the games until Nintendo announces its plans for the game’s release.
