I simply remember thinking that I didn’t want anyone else to have to go through what I had to go through. Now that we’ve established this, I can be your future best friend, and I can aid you as well as tell you all the TMI details of my pregnancy and how insane it was.

A day earlier, Trainor dropped a cryptic hint about her pregnancy in a TikTok video. In the clip, she displays her friends and family members’ reactions to a “secret I’ve been keeping for the past few months.”

During an unannounced appearance on TODAY with Hoda and Jenna in the year 2020, Trainor surprised everyone by announcing that she was expecting her first child. During the course of the discussion, the singer recalled past conversations she had had with Hoda in which she expressed her desire to have a large family.

“We were thinking about who do I tell first, and I was like, I told Hoda since I was 19 going to the TODAY show (that) I will have the most babies in the world,” she said.

“It finally happened, and we’re so excited.” This wasn’t the first time Meghan Trainor had said she wanted to be a mother. In October 2019, Trainor told E! News that she wants to “make a bunch of babies.”

I want three babies!” At the time, Trainor said. “I want to get it all done at one time and be like, pop them in there. You know what I’m saying? Let’s knock it out. Let’s do it at once. You and me. I want twins or triplets. I want a doctor to put them in, you know?”

Trainor told TODAY Parents in June 2021 about giving birth to Riley, who will be two next month. Riley was born with a breech position and by C-section. The singer of “Made You Look” said that Riley’s scary birth was like “one of those horror stories.”

Trainor said, “He didn’t cry.” “When he came out, he didn’t make any noise. I thought, “Why doesn’t he cry?” Then they told me that he wasn’t able to breathe well. It was very scary.

“I got to see him for one second before they took him away. That was probably the worst part,” Trainor continued. “It was definitely a rough start. But we’re so lucky we got to bring him home after five days.” Trainor went on to share that despite his rocky start, Riley is “the smiliest, happiest baby.”
