Love Chunibyo & Other Delusions Season 3: Are We Getting It or Not?

Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions has been talked about for a long time now about whether or not it will return for a third season. It has been almost 10 years since the first episode of the romantic-comedy anime made a big splash in 2012. Since then, we’ve seen more fantastical adventures from Yuta and Rikka in a second season and a full-length movie, but the fans want more.

The story is about the couple’s weird romance as they live their lives as “Chunibyo.” The term is used to describe someone who has a lot of trouble living their normal lives because of their fantasies about supernatural powers. It’s so bad that it’s called a “serious delusional condition.” As a result, these Walter Mitty characters are often called “eighth-grade syndrome.” They keep having childish fantasies even after they should have been old enough to be adults.

As long as Kyoto Studios hasn’t said anything, there aren’t many details about a possible third season out there. Are fans’ dreams as bogus as their favorite characters’ dreams? Everything we know so far:

Love Chunibyo & Other Delusions Season 3: Release Date

It has been rumored for a long time that there will be news of a new season before 2021 is over. A year after saying that Season 3 might not happen, the rumor mill is still going strong on other websites. This means that fans’ hopes haven’t been dashed just yet.
When the first season came out in 2012, it was quickly followed by a one-off special in June 2013. The second season didn’t come until 2014. As soon as the second season came to an end in March of that same year, fans had to wait for a long four years for the feature-length follow-up, “Chunibyo & Other Delusions: Take On Me.”

Rotten Tomatoes gave “Take On Me” a score of 78 percent from people who saw it. That kind of fan enthusiasm could make sense for the third season. “Chunibyo” fans might be able to get their fix from Kyoto Studios, but there’s still no official word on when it will be released. We’d say it won’t come out until the end of 2021 at least.

The anime is about Yuta Togashi, a boy who used to have “chnibyo.” “Chnibyo,” also known as “Eighth-grade syndrome,” is a condition where people think they have supernatural abilities. Yuta thought he had these abilities and called himself the “Dark Flame Master.” As Yta gets older, he starts to feel bad about his fantasies.

As he starts high school, he wants to start a new life. But just when he was about to leave his past behind, he met a delusional girl in his class, Rikka, who made him want to go back. Knowing that Yta used to be delusional makes her want to meet him. The first few seasons of the show told the story of how they met and fell in love. You can see more of this story in the anime film “Love, Chunibyo & Other Delusions! Take On Me.”

In a post-credits scene from the anime film, we see Yta understand how much he loves Rikka. Yuta comes back home. In Rikka’s new apartment, there are two floors above him. She climbs down with the rope while Yuta finally realizes that everything about her made him fall in love with the girl he met. This was very moving to know that when Yta and Rikka first met, she was so angry and annoyed with her. The things they’ve done together over the years have covered up their feelings for each other.

If the show comes back for a third season, Yuta and Rikka might still play a big part. However, since their love story seemed to end on a good note in the movie, the new season could bring us a new couple to follow.
