Tom Hiddleston is the gift that keeps on giving, as the British actor will be returning for Loki Season 2 later this year. Because the first season of the Marvel Cinematic Cosmos spinoff show on Disney+ was such a resounding success, it has opened up the universe (and the multiverse) to the possibility of brand-new and interesting dangers.
Here is all you need to know about Loki Season 2, including its release date, whether or not there is a trailer for it, cast information, plot elements, and more. This will help you get ready for the return of the God of Mischief.
Loki Season 2 Release Date
Kevin Feige announced at San Diego Comic-Con that the second season of Loki will premiere on Disney+ in the summer of 2023.
This will take place after the release of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania in February 2023. This film includes He Who Remains, the antagonist from the first season of Ant-Man and the Wasp. He is an alternate version of Kang the Conqueror.

Loki Season 2 Cast
Tom Hiddleston and Owen Wilson will reprise their roles as Agent Mobius in the upcoming second season. Gugu Mbatha-Raw is also scheduled to reprise her role as Ravonna Lexus Renslayer. In addition, Sophia Di Martino will reprise her role as Sylvie, but it is yet unknown how significant of a part she will play this time around.
Hiddleston announced a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, where he confirmed the return of the “full cast.” In an interview with Elle from the previous year, Di Martino stated that she “didn’t know anything” about Season 2, but she did discuss her hopes for the character of Sylvie moving forward in the show.
In an interview with Popverse, Miss Minute’s voice actress Tara Strong also announced that her character would be returning for the second season of the show. Ke Huy Quan, who is most known for his roles as Data in The Goonies and Short Round in Indiana Jones, has been cast as one of the main characters in Everything Everywhere All at Once, making this one of the most exciting casting decisions for Season 2.
In terms of the cast and staff, the previous showrunner, Kate Herron, will not be returning for Season 2. “I’m incredibly excited to watch it as a fan when it comes back for its second season. She said in an interview with Deadline, “I just believe I’m pleased with what we created here, and I’ve given it my best.”
The Endless filmmakers Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, who also directed two episodes of Moon Knight, have signed on as directors and will co-direct the majority of Season 2’s episodes. Writers Michael Waldron and Eric Martin have also returned for the second season of the show.
Loki Season 2 Plotline
The story of Loki has already taken a few surprising turns, and the writers are being especially cagey about the direction that Season 2 will go. With the fate of the multiverse in his hands, Loki will almost certainly come face to face with Kang the Conqueror once more.
On the other hand, this is dependent on what happens to the antagonist in the subsequent Ant-Man movie. Now that we’ve seen that anyone can show up, as we did in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, we have to wonder: who will Loki encounter next?
Hiddleston stated the following while he was speaking with Total Film: “At the end of Season 1, the tale isn’t over. That seems to make a lot of sense to me. It seems as though Loki is currently in an even more unstable, turbulent, passionate, and chaotic state than he has ever been before. And perhaps part of that requires some sort of resolution.
Season 1 Of Loki: Recap
In the movie “Avengers: Endgame,” we witnessed Loki from the year 2012 flee with the Tesseract, which leaves his ultimate fate open to speculation. The Loki from 2012 has been taken into custody by the Time Variance Authority, even though the original Loki perished at the hands of Thanos during the Infinity War.
They ensure that there are no lulls in the continuity of the multiverse by functioning in essence as the MCU’s version of the time police. As a result of the fact that Loki is unable to revert to his former ways, the God of Mischief is forced to collaborate with the Time Variance Authority to restore order. Along the way, Loki encounters peculiar incarnations of himself.
After the story, Loki encounters He Who Remains, a shadowy figure with the ability to simultaneously view the past, the present, and the future. Loki and Sylvie are successful in defeating He Who Remains because they can rip apart the fabric of time and space. Nevertheless, a complete tear has been made in the fabric of the multiverse.
