Police Say Laurel Man Shot and Died Near Shopping Center 

According to the Laurel Police Department, a man was shot and murdered early on Wednesday morning near a shopping area in the city.

The male was reportedly shot in the 3500 block of Russett Green East near the Russett Green shopping area shortly after 10:00 a.m., according to the officers who responded to the scene. He died right where he was.

According to Cpl. Chris Anderson of the Anne Arundel County Police Department, it is believed that the shooter and the victim knew each other.

Even though police are looking into what happened, Walmart and Sam’s Club are still open for business. Anderson said, “It’s a terrible tragedy, and I don’t know how to explain it.” Police say that the investigation is still going on.
