Yellowstone on Paramount Network has shown that people still like good westerns. In the next season of Yellowstone, there will be more of it. The neo-westerns by Taylor Sheridan are very different from the John Wayne movies that made the genre famous, but Yellowstone’s cowboys have become one of the most popular shows on TV.
In 2021, the only cable network that made it into the top 100 most-watched US TV shows of the year were “Phantom Pain” and “Under a Blanket of Red” from Yellowstone season 4. Then, 10.3 million people watched the season 4 finale.
Yellowstone’s popularity has also helped a few other shows, especially 1883, a prequel to Yellowstone and is only available to stream on Paramount Plus. There are also two more spinoffs planned for Yellowstone: 6666, a direct continuation of Yellowstone, and 1923, which, like 1883, is a prequel series about the Dutton family in the past.
But Yellowstone is still the most popular show, and now that season 5 has been officially given the go-ahead, fans can’t wait for the Dutton family to return. Here’s what we know about season 5 of Yellowstone.
Yellowstone Season 5 Release Date
The first episode of season 5 of Yellowstone will air in the US on Sunday, November 13, at 8 pm ET/PT. New episodes will air every week. The first episode will be two hours long.
Fans in the UK can now watch Yellowstone more easily thanks to Paramount Plus, but it is still unclear when season 5 of Yellowstone will be shown on UK TV. Season 5 of Yellowstone will be the longest, with 14 episodes instead of the usual 10. The season will have two parts, each with seven episodes.
Yellowstone Season 5 Plot
No one has said what will happen in season 5, but we can guess that Market Equity and the Duttons will keep fighting over land. Besides that, it’s unclear if John will keep running for governor now that Jamie is back in the family. How will Kayce’s dream come true?
The Dutton Family

Dutton is driven to safeguard his family’s land and legacy at any cost.

This means there will be more flashback scenes. Caroline Warner, one of the bad guys in season 4, is also back, played by Jacki Weaver.

For season 5, there will be several new faces. Kai Caster plays Rowdy, a young cowboy; Lainey Wilson plays Abby, a musician; Lilly Kay plays Clara Brewer, the Duttons’ new assistant; and Dawn Olivieri plays Sarah Atwood, a new corporate player who moves to Montana.
Yellow Stone Season 5: Is It Going To Be The Last Season?
Fans will have to keep their fingers crossed that Tyler Sheridan and Kevin Costner are interested in continuing the drama into Season 6, as neither has announced or greenlit Season 6. In any case, renewal for more seasons is almost guaranteed when a network already has a proven hit on the air. The good news is that Season 5 of Yellowstone will be divided into two more minor seasons, each consisting of seven episodes.
It will feel like it’s airing all year long, with the first seven episodes running in the fall and winter of this year and the remaining episodes arriving in the spring and early summer of 2023. If you have access to the Peacock Network, you can watch the first four back-to-back seasons. (Sorry, but even though it airs on the Paramount Network, you can’t watch past seasons on Paramount+.)
