Raian quickly gained the upper hand against Edward, and the chapter concluded with Raian severing Edward’s neck with his finger as he said, “You never had a chance against me.” Chapter 145 will reveal more information on what occurs next. No matter how hard he tries, he can’t come back from this.

Chapter 144
Erioh’s neck is crushed by Edward in a single stroke in Chapter 144, titled “Transcendent”. Erioh’s plot to defeat Edward was seen in flashbacks following the violent panel. As far as he was concerned, Erioh and his men had no chance against Edward in a battle. Because of this, they’ve decided to use the assassination method, which requires a sacrifice. We had no idea he was referring to himself when he said it.
Edward’s Removal method nullifies the poison to Erioh’s dismay. Raian appears as their guardian deity and yells at his grandpa for being so careless just before he was about to destroy everyone. He starts a battle with Edward right away, and as the fight progresses, Edward’s injuries worsen. Edward launches his ‘Moun Tai North Star Eightfold Demolution Fist,’ which Raian refuses to use. There’s no knowing who’s going to win as long as they keep trading blows.

Edward’s hubris in his authority is costing him his life now, says Erioh, who is dying. He goes on to say that if he had been at the peak of his powers, Edward would have been toast. Just as expected, Raian begins to take control of the fight, and everything go according to plan. With his index finger, he stabs the blood-hungry madman in the neck.
