Juliette and the Phantoms,” a Netflix series based on the Brazilian serial “Julie and the Fantasmas,” was an instant sensation when Season 1 premiered in September 2020. Season 2 is now in production. Madison Reyes portrays Julie Molina, a high school student who has a passion for singing and music creation. However, with the death of her mother, Julie encounters a snag in her journey. While attempting to conquer whatever it is that is holding her back, Julie unintentionally summons the spirits of a former band from the year 1995.
Fans of “High School Musical,” “Descendants,” and other Disney Channel hits will be pleased to know that the new series “Julie and the Phantoms” is executive produced by none other than Kenny Ortega, the man behind hit franchises such as “High School Musical,” “Descendants,” and “High School Musical 2.” Following the signing of a multi-year contract with Netflix, the series will be his debut effort (via Deadline).
“Julie and the Phantoms” is a musical comedy that everyone can enjoy, and the series has garnered overwhelmingly positive reviews from reviewers, receiving a 93 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a 98 percent rating from the audience. Unfortunately, despite the show’s undeniable success, fans are still waiting for news on whether or not it will return for a second season.
Here’s what we know so far about the second season of “Julie and the Phantoms.”
Julie and the Phantoms Season 2 Release Date
Netflix has not yet announced whether or not “Julie and the Phantoms” will be renewed or canceled. Yet, there have been several stories indicating that a second season has either been greenlit or is in the works, with The Cinema Spot reporting on a renewed season far back in September, before the program had even launched on the streaming service (Production Weekly). Nonetheless, without an official confirmation from Netflix, it’s difficult to distinguish between what’s true and what’s not.
If you’re looking for an estimated release date, it’s difficult to say. If these claims are correct and the second season is already in development, it’s feasible that production on new episodes may begin this summer or before the end of the year, depending on when the season is released.
With that in mind, the earliest viewers may expect to see a second season of “Julie and the Phantoms” would be late 2022 or early 2023, according to the studio. Julie and the Phantoms Season 2 Cast
It’s probable that Season 2 of “Julie and the Phantoms” will contain all of the same core cast members from Season 1, as well as some new side characters. This implies that in addition to Reyes as Julie, Charlie Gillespie will play Luke, and Owen Wilson will play Owen.

With Julie’s assistance, the characters Luke, Alex, and Reggie learn that music has the ability to make them more real, allowing people to see and hear them for the first time in Season 1.
A mystical encounter with Caleb occurs throughout the season as he gives the Phantoms a countdown to when they would reportedly vanish from the face of the earth. Finale: The lads appear to have transcended this hopeless forecast and are finally able to touch each other, connecting with the surrounding actual world. However, it appears that the malevolent Caleb is not yet finished with the Phantoms, as he appears to be using Julie’s former admirer, Nick, to get closer to her.
The film “Julie and the Phantoms,” which takes place throughout all of this, also delves deeply into Julie’s use of music to cope with her grief following the death of her mother. In addition, the episode implies that Julie’s mother may have something to do with why she is able to see the Phantoms but others are unable to.
