Julie and the Phantoms Season 2: Renewed Or Not?

Julie and the Phantoms season 2

An output agreement with Netflix was signed in April 2019 for the series, which is directed by Kenny Ortega (who was hired away from Disney and is best known for Descendents and High School Musical).

It was released on Netflix on September 10th, 2020, in all of its territories. Julie and the Phantoms is an American remake of the Brazilian series Julie and the Fantasmas, which premiered on the streaming service in 2010. Madison Reyes, Charlie Gillespie, Owen Patrick Joyner, Jeremy Shada, and Jadah Marie are among the actors who appear in the series.

Julie And The Phantoms Season 1: Ending

Julie and the Phantoms will not be performing any longer. But first, let’s recap what happened at the conclusion of the show.

Julie and her family return home, and Julie returns to her studio, where she compliments the lads for being there for her, despite the fact that she believes they have gone over.

They never crossed over since it turned out that performing at the Orpheum was not one of their outstanding difficulties. Julie tries to persuade them to help themselves by joining Caleb’s band, but they refuse since they don’t want to make music without her.

Just as Luke begins to recover fully, Julie and Luke embrace and discover they can establish physical contact. Caleb’s curse is lifted when Alex and Reggie decide to join them.

Nick arrives at Julie’s house with flowers the next day, but Caleb appears behind him and takes possession of him. Julie then steps up to the door and greets Nick, entirely oblivious to the fact that she is conversing with Caleb.

Is There Going To Be A Second Season Of Julie And The Phantoms?

Julie and the Phantoms appear to have no intentions for a second season due to Netflix’s decision not to move through with a second season.

Although Netflix has stepped in to preserve a number of programs over the years, Netflix Originals haven’t had the same luck with other networks or streaming services.

While it’s possible that a competitor will try to save the show, there are no reports that it will be shopped around. Instead, Kenny Ortega suggests that the series is officially over and encourages fans to “follow us as we move forward with our work and careers,” rather than rallying them to fight for a second season elsewhere.

As a result, Julie and the Phantoms season 2 does not appear to be coming to Netflix or anywhere else.

Julie and the Phantoms Season 2: Reason Behind Cancelation

The hot concern among fans after the show’s cancellation on Dec. 18 was why Netflix decided not to renew Julie and the Phantoms for a second season. Unfortunately, we may never know why the show was canceled because Netflix has yet to issue an official comment and rarely provides explanations when terminating the series.

Typically, programs are terminated owing to a lack of audience buzz, resulting in low viewership numbers. There was clearly talking about the series, but because of the way Netflix publishes viewership data, it’s hard to determine how many people watched Julie and the Phantoms on Netflix during its initial month and subsequent months.

The Show’s Executive Producer And Director Have Announced The Show’s Cancellation

Executive producer and director Kenny Ortega broke the news of the cancellation. Instagram was used to make the announcement. They also expressed gratitude to the show’s viewers for their unwavering support. Multiple photographs of the team were captioned with the message.

“Our @julieandthephantoms family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to our Fantoms all over the world for the wonderful outpouring of love and support you have given us since our premiere,” Ortega posted alongside many behind-the-scenes photographs from the show. “We found out this week that Netflix will not renew our contract for another season. Despite our sadness, we move on with pride in what we did as a team and the family we formed while developing Julie.”

Despite its seemingly basic concept, the show earned positive reviews and was nominated for numerous Daytime Emmy awards in 2021.

You can also read the Instagram post’s comments, as previously noted. Fans of the show are outraged to learn that it has been officially canceled. And they are adamant about a renewal.
