American environmental lawyer, politician, and author RFK Jr. is well-known for spreading false information against vaccinations and conspiracy theories about public health. He is a contender for the Democratic Party’s presidential candidacy in 2024.
Kennedy is the nephew of former US president John F. Kennedy and the son of US attorney general and Senator Robert F. Kennedy. He was raised in the Massachusetts and Washington, D.C. area, graduated from Harvard University, and afterwards attended the University of Virginia School of Law to earn his Juris Doctor.
In New York City, Kennedy started his legal career as an assistant district attorney. He joined the environmental non-profits Riverkeeper in 1984 and the Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) in 1986.
In 1986, he was invited to teach environmental law as an adjunct at Pace University School of Law. He established the Pace Law School’s Environmental Litigation Clinic in 1987 and served as its co-director and supervising attorney until 2017.
In 1999, he served as board president of the nonprofit environmental organization Waterkeeper Alliance, which he also created.
How Old is RFK Jr?
The 69-year-old Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is the sixth Kennedy to enter the presidential race, and his campaign has made a concerted effort to capitalize on 1960s nostalgia with everything from retro signage to frequent references to “my uncle” and “my father.”

It’s like staring through a fun-house mirror at a familiar and deformed figure as you watch him speak while enjoying a cup of tea in his living room with his three dogs playing around.
He had the same rolled-up sleeves, piercing blue eyes, and weathered tan as his father may have seemed had he been permitted to age. Spasmodic dysphonia, a vocal problem that manifested unexpectedly when he was 42, has affected his speech.
He has speculated that it is a side effect of the flu vaccine. Like his father, he typically goes by Bobby, but his campaign used the more formal Robert.
A framed 1965 Life magazine cover with his father, beaming in a bright red snowsuit, honouring his ascent of a Canadian peak that was renamed Mount Kennedy, is displayed in the corner of the living room.
His father’s voter registration card is displayed across the space. President John F. Kennedy’s uncle is shown in bronze and keeps watch from a console—a wall-mounted, enlarged black-and-white photograph of Bobby Jr. at age 7 in the Oval Office 1961.
