Season 1 of the animated series on DC Universe premiered at the end of 2019 and Season 2 will premiere in April 2020. Harley Quinn accompanied Poison Ivy and her band of misunderstood villains on their travels. Many assumed that a Season 3 renewal was all but assured with the show’s relocation to HBO Max in August.
Here’s everything we know so far about a prospective third season of Harley Quinn, including when it could air, who might star in it, and what it might be about.

Yes! It was confirmed in September 2021 that Harley Quinn would be returning for Season 3 and that the show will be exclusively streamed on HBO Max, following months of speculation.

Harley Quinn Season 3 Plotline
Toward the close of Season 2, Commissioner Jim Gordon crashed Poison Ivy’s wedding to Kite Man with the goal of getting ahead of the Justice League and taking down the criminals who were in attendance. Harley also attends the wedding in order to prevent Gordon from marrying her best friend (whom she has feelings for). Harley and Ivy ultimately get the happy ending they deserve when Gordon departs and they drive off into the sunset together (despite being pursued by Gordon’s henchmen) in their convertible. Joker also recognized that he still wanted to be a villain, but that he also wanted to settle down in the suburbs with his new fiancée, which was a revelation. What a performance!

In terms of plot, Season 3 is expected to follow up where Season 2 left off, with Harley and Ivy beginning a love connection (and maybe ending up in jail if they are found). Season 3 will, according to series creator Justin Halpern, examine their new connection and go deeper into Ivy’s character after concentrating so much on Harley in Season 2. As part of their efforts to diversify their crew and speak to their relationship from a personal perspective, the writers’ room recruited new voices from the LGBTQ+ community.
Conclusion
In general, there’s still a lot of ground to cover in terms of Harley Quinn’s backstory. For one thing, the city of Gotham is still walled off from the rest of the United States, and Harley has finally recognized that she isn’t the straight-up villain she had envisioned herself to be. Season 3 might go more into this new aspect of her as she learns to accept her new role as an antihero.
