A Small Plane Crashed Near Alpharetta’s Big Creek Greenway, Killing 1 and 1 Missing

According to the Alpharetta police department, just one body has been found so far following an airplane crash along the Big Creek Greenway in Alpharetta on Monday afternoon.

According to Sgt. David Freeman of the Alpharetta Police Department, the specific number of passengers on board the plane at the time was not immediately known; however, the flight plan that was filed showed that there were supposed to be two people on board. According to him just one of the bodies has been found.

We received a 911 call about a plane crash,” Sgt. Freeman.

This call came in at approximately 12:57 in the afternoon. The small plane crash was said to have occurred just to the north of Kimball Bridge Road.

According to Alpharetta Police Sergeant David Freeman, “the public was safe. There was nobody, and no residences in threat at that time, when the jet went down” when the plane went down. “So, it must be in a remote part of the Greenway,” you say.

SKYFOX 5 observed broken tree limbs and a debris field in the woods during their flight over the region.

According to the Federal Aviation Administration, two persons were on board the jet when it crashed approaching DeKalb-Peachtree Airport. The Big Creek Greenway is currently closed from Kimball Bridge Road all the way north to Old Milton Parkway all the way south.

The accident will be looked into by both the NTSB and the FAA. The National Transportation Safety Board has identified the plane as a twin-propeller Beechcraft Baron. According to online flight tracking services, the aircraft most likely originated in southern Georgia.
