‘Gen LOCK,’ an animated series for adults created by Gray Haddock, depicts a bitter conflict between the multinational alliance known as The Polity and an invading force known as The Union. Gen: LOCK, a unique transformation technique that allows exceptional people to implant their thoughts into a special armor dubbed “Holons,” is at the heart of this tumultuous adventure.
The series launched on Rooster Teeth on January 26, 2019, before premiering on Adult Swim on August 3, 2019. For its second season, the show moved to HBO Max. The show’s original idea and razor-sharp banter have earned it critical acclaim. We’ve got the scoop on whether or not there will be a third season!
Gen LOCK Season 3 Release Date
Season 2 of ‘Gen: LOCK’ premiered on HBO Max on November 4, 2021, and concluded on December 23, 2021, with eight episodes. The second season’s episodes clock in at roughly 30 minutes long. Additionally, it is expected to launch on Rooster Teeth on February 2, 2022, for members of FIRST.
As far as third season news goes, here’s what we know thus far. For now, there have been no announcements about the show’s future. This means that even in the event that the company receives an order for a fresh installment, there may be a delay. Season 1 and Season 2 were separated by almost three years. Some behind-the-scenes adjustments may be necessary. There may have been further delays as a result of the epidemic as well.

“Gen LOCK” was the second most popular Adult Swim program during its first season, or occasionally third, after “Dragon Ball Super” or “Dr. Stone.” On September 7, 2019, the sixth episode of the animated series ranked ninth among all U.S. television programs. It was then reported that the program has been renewed for a second season, which will premiere on HBO Max for the first 90 days before being released on Rooster Teeth FIRST.
We don’t expect the show to be canceled since it is now part of HBO Max, which has a large audience. We anticipate the third season of ‘gen: LOCK’ to be released by the end of Q4 2022 if there are no additional delays.
Gen LOCK Season 3 Voice Cast
Michael B. Jordan gives his voice as Julian Chase, a Brooklyn-based Vanguard pilot in ‘gen: LOCK.’ A 17-year-old Scottish hacker, Cameron “Cammie” MacCloud, is the youngest gen: LOCK recruit. As a voice actor, Kichi Yamadera provides his voice to Kazu Iida, a Japanese military transfer who was demoted.
Yasamin ‘Yaz’ Madrani, an Iranian fighter pilot, is voiced by Golshifteh Farahani, while Asia Kate Dillon, a former Russian clandestine operative, is voiced by Asia Kate Dillon. Lawrence Sonntag (ABLE), Lara Toner Haddock (Patricia Bartlet-Young), Anisha Nagarajan (Dr. Fatima Jha), and others are regulars in the voice cast.
It is possible that several of these performers may repeat their roles in season 3 if the show returns to our televisions. Monica Rial may or may not return to voice the role of Col. Raquel Marin. There may also be some fresh additions to the roster.
The Plot Of Gen LOCK Season 3
There has been an increase in the intensity of the conflict overtime in the second season. Chase’s neurological pattern has been used by the Union to make several replicas of the warped Holon in their labs. Consequently, the Polity will soon be extinct. Although the approach has its drawbacks, Col. Marin resorts to neural duplicates of her five Holon pilots as the last option.
The battle may not come to a conclusion in the following season, which might help define the next phase of the conflict. There is little question that the Holon will suffer greatly as a result of its extensive weaponization. As a result, if the series returns with a new chapter, the plot is sure to grow much more interesting!
