“Finally, The Sausage Is Made”, Prez Biden, As ‘Build Better Back’ Gets Green Signal From The White House

With the Infrastructure Bill getting the assent of the House of Representatives, it marked a historic day in the post-COVID-19 economic recovery phase under the Biden administration. With the planned expenditure of over $1.85 Trillion, Biden called it a ‘monumental step forward. He would be signing it to be law next week.

The plan is expected to be financed through different sources such as budget remains from the COVID-19 relief fund, increasing taxes on cryptocurrencies, they had however backed down from increasing corporate tax.

Taking a light-hearted dig at his predecessor, Former President Trump, Biden joked, “We did something that’s long overdue, that has long been talked about in Washington but never actually been done, “ implying that infrastructure week was, at last, a reality.

The Bill had reached a stalemate in a divided house over the last few months, where about certain hold-outs of the Democrats had to be negotiated with, and changes had to be adjusted.

The final voting tally stood at 228-206, with 13 Republicans extended support to the 215 democrats in the house. However, 6 progressive Democrats had voted against the massive expenditure plan.

“We commit to voting for the Build Back Better Act, in its current form … as expeditiously as we receive fiscal information from the Congressional Budget Office — but in no event later than the week of November 15th — consistent with the top lines for revenues and investments” stated 5 moderates of the Democratic Party, to reach last-minute agreements, and put up their vote in favor.
