Female Hiker Killed by a 50-Feet Fall from Pacifica Cliff

A 45-year-old woman passed away after falling from a cliff on a famous coastal hiking spot in the San Francisco Bay area according to the authorities.

The woman was trekking yet she tripped and fell 50 feet from the top of Mori Point trail down to the Rockaway Beach last Sunday. She died right on the spot.

The woman was identified as Yvonne Rogan from Daly City, according to the San Mateo County Coroner. Eye witnesses shared they have seen how Rogan tripped and fell off the trail.

Captain Bill Glasgo from Pacifica Police Department from his CBS station KPIX statement said, “It does appear that it was an unfortunate accident in which a hiker had lost her footing.

Very seldom do these tragic incidents happen where folks are hiking in areas where this accident occurred.”

Rogan has just started hiking recently to improve her health according to her childhood friend, Jason Behan in his statement to KRON-TV. He shared that he couldn’t believe the news when he found out about it.

“She was a good mom. She was a daughter. She was a good wife. She was a good friend. She was all that. They don’t make them like that anymore,” Behan shared.

A GoFundMe page was set up to help for her funeral expenses. In the page, Rogan was remembered as “an amazing, outgoing, loving and truly strong woman.”
