Errol Spence Jr. has emerged unscathed from yet another vehicle collision. The unbeaten WBA, WBC, and IBF welterweight champion was a victim in a two-vehicle accident that occurred Saturday evening at an undisclosed site in the greater Dallas region. The location of the collision was not known. An underage driver who was not licensed and who ran a red light was responsible for a head-on collision with Spence’s SUV.

Spence was able to go away reasonably unhurt, even though he complained of a leg injury during an Instagram Live session that was filming the immediate aftermath while awaiting the arrival of surrounding police to conduct an on-site inquiry. Spence escaped quite unscathed.

“The mother—-er struck me… f——ed my leg up. Spence referred to the situation as “insane.” “He was in charge of the light. Happens to me all the time. Even I have seen him approaching. He collided with me at full speed. At the time that this article is being prepared for publication, neither the extent of Spence’s leg injury nor the location of the accident can be determined with certainty.

Although the identity of the driver has not been made public, BoxingScene.com has established that the passenger was a 14-year-old boy who was driving the car that belonged to his parents. When the unnamed motorist hit Spence’s SUV, which was a total loss due to the accident, he ran a red light and was not aware of his surroundings at the time of the collision.

Spence said, seemingly unable to believe what he had just seen, “I seen him approaching, going fast as hell.” “He struck me in the head. My vehicle is made entirely of metal and is extremely hefty. I can’t help but be relieved that I didn’t bring either of my children with me into that room. “Shoot, I ain’t bothered about no car at all, you hear me?”

Ironically, the incident occurred just a few hours before Spence’s chief adversary in the division, Terence “Bud” Crawford (38-0, 29KOs), was scheduled to defend his WBO welterweight title in Omaha, Nebraska. Crawford has chosen to fight David Avanesyan (29-3-1, 17 KOs) instead of an undisputed championship fight against Errol Spence (28-0, 22 KOs) after stepping away from months of negotiations between the two fighters.

Since October 2019, Spence has been involved in at least two other car accidents, with the most recent one being on Saturday. The undefeated southpaw from Desoto, Texas, who was driving a Ferrari when he lost control and was ejected from the vehicle in October 2019, escaped a single-car accident despite suffering significant injuries. Spence entered a guilty plea in June 2022 to the charge of driving while intoxicated (DWI), for which he was given a jail sentence of three days and was forced to pay court fees totaling $3,400.

Spence disclosed that he was engaged in a second automobile accident before his stoppage victory over Yordenis Ugas earlier this year. This accident occurred approximately three months after the near-fatal incident that occurred in October 2019. During that particular incident, Spence disclosed that he had been hit from behind, and he freely admitted to being shaken up even though he was still battling post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

BoxingScene.com is currently receiving complete specifics from the incident that occurred on Saturday; however, it was stated by at least one party close to Spence that he is anticipated to be alright beyond his leg injury and overall soreness. BoxingScene.com is still gathering full details.

Spence has not competed since his victory over Ugas on April 16 which resulted in a stoppage in the tenth round. This victory allowed Spence to unify the WBA, WBC, and IBF welterweight belts and took place at AT&T Stadium, which is the home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys.

In-ring plans for the southpaw, who is 32 years old, have not yet been confirmed; however, it has been strongly suggested that he will next face WBC mandatory challenger and former unified WBA/WBC welterweight titleholder Keith Thurman (30-1, 22KOs) in the first quarter of 2023. Thurman currently holds the WBC welterweight title.
