Denuvo has expanded upon the information it released earlier this week on the future Nintendo Switch Emulator Protection solution.
In order to combat piracy and PC emulation, the business has issued an open invitation to publishers to implement Denuvo’s anti-tamper software inside Switch titles. Many fans, however, were unhappy with Denuvo’s involvement because they feared the software’s potential performance impacts.
Since then, a Denuvo representative has addressed concerns about the program and its developers.
According to a Denuvo representative quoted by Kotaku, the company’s software “will not have any in-game performance impact.” This is in contrast to the well-documented negative effects Denuvo has had on PC games like Resident Evil Village and Devil May Cry 5.
Soul Hackers 2 uses #Denuvo on PC. This DRM is too heavy on system resources (it uses a lot of cpu and does a lot of excessive writes to storage possibly damaging any ssd) impairing the game performance and making it not worth buying until publisher fixes the problem.

Denuvo went on to clarify the software’s intended function, saying that it wouldn’t rely on online checks and that the solution was designed towards Switch emulation on PC, even if the ROMs were legally purchased and then ripped.
What Is Denuvo?
Denuvo Anti-Tamper is a digital rights management (DRM) and anti-tampering system created by Denuvo Software Solutions GmbH, an Irdeto subsidiary based in Austria. The firm has also created a countermeasure to combat cheating.
Why Is Denuvo Controversial?
Denuvo has been criticized for its high CPU consumption and excessive writing operations on storage components, which significantly shorten the lifespan of solid-state drives (SSDs).
Why Most Of The Games Disabled Denuvo?
SteamDB’s update logs show that the removal of Denuvo has been implemented in both Rises of the Tomb Raider and Shadow of the Tomb Raider. Several games have reported sluggishness after updating to the anti-piracy software.
