Daybreak Season 2: Why Netflix Canceled The Show? Explained!

Daybreak Season 2

Daybreak Season 2

Daybreak on Netflix will make you feel fine even if the world as we know it is ending. The horror-comedy, which is inspired by the graphic novel of the same name, stars Colin Ford as Josh Wheeler, who is searching for his crush Sam Dean (Sophie Simnet) in this new post-apocalyptic world. It’s a world that feels more like a high school cafeteria than The Walking Dead, which means it’s plenty of angst.

Of course, Josh discovers a lot more throughout the course of these ten episodes, which culminate in a final twist that is too fantastic to reveal here and terrifyingly good music. Daybreak has classics like the Smashing Pumpkins’ ennui hymn “Today” and Tupac’s “California Love,” a state that hasn’t seen any since a mystery blast turned the grownups into Ghoulies.

The Decemberists, The Mountain Goats, and The Shins have all contributed songs to the soundtrack. Not to add a couple of girl power ragers that may entice you to join the Cheermazons. How about you? Do you have an apocalyptic spirit? If you don’t, this playlist may be of assistance.

Daybreak Season 2 Story

Daybreak takes situated in a post-apocalyptic world that incorporates a wide range of archetypes from numerous forms of genre literature into one cohesive whole. It has gangs, ronin, and cliques that are similar of those seen in classic high school films such as Mean Girls, and it is set in a Mad Max-esque world. Young survivors prowl the streets of Los Angeles, vying for power in cliques that resemble those found in ordinary high school life, such as the Cheermazons and the Jocks.

Josh is the main character, and he is a lone wolf on the hunt for his missing girlfriend, Sam. He’s soon joined by Angelica Green, a 10-year-old punk-rock genius and pyromaniac, and Austin Crute (Booksmart), who plays Wesley Fists, a ronin-like character on the prowl for vengeance in the world of music.

The cast banded together to take on the show’s villain, played by none other than Ferris Bueller himself, Matthew Broderick. Broderick portrays a former high school principal who has adopted the persona of the wicked Baron Triumph to further his career.

Daybreak Season 2 Plot

The first season of Daybreak concludes with the adolescents successfully launching a nuclear weapon into space. In the meantime, Principal Burr alias Triumph, the self-proclaimed “Armageddon Jesus,” is defeated in a comedic relief moment.

Sam picks up a lot of knowledge through her adventures, which goes unrecognized by Josh because he’s so in love with her that he expects survival would lead to romance on its own. However, in Daybreak season 1, the climactic twist has Sam rejecting Josh and assuming the kingdom like a post-apocalyptic Daenerys Targaryen.

In the first season of Daybreak, Josh was ready for love, but it turns out that Sam is ready to take the reins. Daybreak season 2 will undoubtedly follow the adage that “all is fair in love and war.” The drama now appears to be centered on power struggles between several factions.

Josh will make an effort to impress Sam, but he will almost certainly have to forge dubious relationships in order to gain power. Daybreak season 2 will introduce a new antagonist, which will serve as a story device to bring Sam and Josh together in the end.

Daybreak Season 2 Behind Reason Of Cancelled

Netflix, the streaming behemoth, is not an ad-supported service. It’s said that Netflix’s Daybreak was canceled because the company couldn’t afford to take a chance on the show because, at the end of the day, it all comes down to the cost of production versus the number of viewers.

This show has developed its own cult following, but it failed to persuade Netflix to renew the Daybreak series for another season.

Daybreak Season 2 Cancel

Late Monday night, Daybreak executive producer and co-creator Aron Eli Coleite announced the cancellation of Netflix’s Daybreak on the microblogging site Twitter.

Brad Peyton and Jeff Fierson, in addition to Coleite, were executive producers and co-creators of the Netflix series Daybreak.

The announcement occurred roughly a month and a half after Daybreak’s October 24 debut.

“No one is as disappointed as we are that we won’t be able to share more of our journey with you,” Eli tweeted. But we’re grateful to have been able to get it this far.”
