Day Of The Dead Season 1 Recap & Review
When a small community is overrun by zombies, a group of survivors must face the horrors that have befallen them. A mediocre replica of the contemporary horror classic Day of the Dead is provided by Steven Kostanski, who was one of the filmmakers of The Void (2016). (1985) According to the first episode, which features a young cast meeting the undead in a flashback, the picture is clearly on a tight budget, which wouldn’t be an issue or cause it to fall short of expectations if the film wasn’t being advertised as a Day of the Dead adaptation.
The make-up effects and the soundtrack are a delightful surprise, as is the lighting design. Greddy town’s officials and labourers look like they’ve stepped out of the Forest of the Dead (2007).
A fresh perspective is provided by authors Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, but the production appears to be SYFY’s cynical attempt to cash in on a classic storyline. The film is plodding and predictable, and it fails to impress as a tribute and a gimmick.
There are unquestionably better or sufficient television zombie programmes already available, ranging in quality from good to excellent to excellent.
