In my mind, I’m a legend.”

Lola becomes friends with Ella Gerard, an outcast at school who also enjoys the rock band Sidarthur. Stu Wolff, the band’s lead vocalist, is the object of Lola’s adoration. The most popular girl in the school, Carla Santini, falls in love with Sam, and the two form a friendship.

When Carla gets passed over for the role of Eliza in the school play Eliza Rocks, a contemporary musical adaptation of Pygmalion, Lola swears to make her life a misery. Carla discloses that she has tickets to the farewell show of Sidarthur, which recently chose to dissolve after Lola beats her on a dancing video game in an arcade.

In order to avoid being outdone by Carla, Lola fabricates the story that she and Ella have tickets. Having her allowance taken away by her mother, she misses out on the opportunity to purchase concert tickets and new clothing.
