Taking care of her first. Days after revealing their split, Chelsea Handler is opening up about her relationship with Jo Koy. When you bend for others, you feel good about yourself. Understanding how to compromise is a good thing. It’s gratifying to know how to publicly express my feelings of affection.

“I think Jo needed it,” Handler, stated during an appearance on the “We Can Do Hard Things with Glennon Doyle” podcast on Wednesday, July 20. But Jo didn’t break me out of my shell.

I was so impressed by us.” I was able to bend for someone because of the work of my therapist, who helped me become more open. But you can’t fundamentally alter a person’s personality.”

At the MGM Grand Garden Center in Las Vegas on April 3, 2022, Chelsea Handler and Jo Koy will attend the Grammy Awards.

Her final remark: “I’m feeling a little more upbeat about the future.” When I first fell in love, I was completely overwhelmed by the magnitude of my feelings. Because I’m so well-versed in treatment and realize that every door closing is a new beginning, I’m confident in my belief.”

They dated for nearly a year before deciding to call it quits, according to Chelsea. In an interview with Glennon Doyle, Handler said that her ex-boyfriend was unwilling to compromise.

As she and Koy came to a fork in the road, the author exclaimed, “I’m very proud of myself because I didn’t allow myself to cross that line.” If you’re in a situation where you’re avoiding something, “I understand the desire to avoid that, the desire to avoid looking into it, because I think I’m at an inopportune time in my life to be in a relationship with someone who understands where I’m at with that.”

When the twosome announced their breakup on Monday, July 18, Handler shared an anniversary video that they had planned to post on July 18, the anniversary of their first year of marriage. Instead, there was a lengthy message accompanying the video.

I must say that it is with a heavy heart that I make the announcement that we have decided to take a rest from our relationship at the moment now. “I wanted to let you know how much it meant to both of us that so many of you were engaged in our relationship. What a weighty issue it’s become. As a result, I’ve come to believe in the power of love for every one of us.

“You blew my creativity open, my love for hard work again, being on the road again, but you reminded me of who I was always have been, as well as my feet have never been more securely planted on the ground,” Handler wrote in a touching tribute to her ex-boyfriend. This isn’t the end, but rather the beginning of something new. The knowledge that I am still madly in love with this man, who I adore like the sun and the moon, gives me great peace of mind.”

It was revealed by the New Jersey native on Wednesday that the two had secretly split one month prior to the announcement of the news Handler’s ultimate goal was to prioritize herself.

“That’s not to say anything against Jo Koy,” she remarked during a podcast interview. “I adore him, and he’s following his own way. If I have to pick just one person, it’s going to be myself… Nobody lied or cheated in any way. “It just didn’t work out,”

This was my last ditch effort and it didn’t work out,” she said. Everything about who I am has changed, and that’s something I wanted everyone to know. The only time I’ve terminated a relationship and felt like an adult was when I broke up with my boyfriend.”

For his part, Koy took to Instagram on Tuesday, July 19, to address the rift between the two, reassuring supporters that he will always be there for Handler. A throwback photo with his ex was captioned, “Just want everyone to know that Chelsea and I will always stay great friends and will always have a love for one another,” he wrote on Instagram.

“I’m her biggest fan and I can’t wait for you all to see what she has in store for the future. Keep killing it, Chelsea!”
