Zelda: Breath of the Wild’s huge, open world was one of the first things people played on the Nintendo Switch.
The game takes well over 100 hours to finish, and even though it came out in 2017, it has still kept the attention of both new and old gamers.
In 2019, Nintendo said that it was making a new version of the game that everyone loved. When is the next Breath of the Wild game coming out?
When Is the “Breath of the Wild 2” Release Date?
Even though the game was announced in the middle of 2019, Nintendo kept the release date vague, saying at first that it would come out sometime in 2022.

Later, the company said that Breath of the Wild 2 would not come out until early 2023, which was even later than before.
During the Nintendo Direct in September, Nintendo announced that the sequel, which will be called The Legends of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, will come out on May 12, 2023.
Series producer Eiji Aonuma said in a video posted to YouTube on March 29 –
“We previously announced that we were aiming for a 2022 release for this game, however, we have decided to extend our development time a bit and change the release to Spring 2023.”
“For those of you who have been looking forward to a release this year, we apologize.”
More sneak peeks of the upcoming game were shown in the video than before. In the teaser, Link goes up into the sky and moves between different landmasses that are floating in the clouds.
He then pulls out a Master Sword that looks different, which suggests that the well-known weapon will be changed in the next part.
When the new trailer came out in September, we saw even more shots of Link jumping through the air and getting around using what we think are new Sheikah Slate powers. Eiji continued –
“As previously announced, the adventure in this sequel will take place not just on the ground as in the previous game, but also in the skies above.”
“However, the expanded world goes beyond that, and there will be an even wider variety of features you can enjoy, including new encounters and gameplay elements. In order to make this game’s experience something special, the entire development team is continuing to work diligently on this game, so please wait a while longer.”
