When Brennan and Booth interrogate the CIA’s Assistant Director of Intelligence, they are left unsure of his allegiance to the U.S. The bones of Levi Yoder, a member of an Amish community, are found near a railroad. When Booth and Brennan discover that Yoder was a brilliant pianist, they believe his talent may have led to his death.
In the fourth episode of this season Brennan and Booth investigate human remains found at a neighborhood block party. And in the next episode, they investigate remains that have been charred on an electric fence. Booth and Brennan suspect foul play. Meanwhile, Brennan goes on a date with Booth’s former supervisor, and Sweets’ girlfriend Daisy returns.
In the sixth episode remains of a chicken, the farmer is found on the bank of a nearby river. The farmer was about to inherit a chicken factory and had many enemies with the motive to kill him. Booth’s grandfather Hank comes to live with him. Hank tries to play matchmaker for Booth.
Booth discovers that he’s not as good of a marksman as he was before his surgery. Booth admits to Dr. Wyatt that he’s in love with Brennan. A man dressed as Santa Claus blows himself up during a botched bank robbery, Brennan and Booth work to identify the bomber and determine his motives.
When a human skeleton is discovered in the trenches of an old Civil War battleground, Brennan and Booth are called to the case. Booth’s brother, Jared, returns from his travels with some surprising news.
The trial of The Gravedigger hits close to home for members of the team, and everyone at the Jeffersonian must work overtime to uncover the forensic evidence to elicit a conviction.
In the last episode of Bones Season 5, the team works to uncover clues buried under a life’s worth of possessions saved by a hoarder to save the mystery of his death. Brennan and Booth are confronted with unique opportunities.

Why Did the Makers Stop Making a New Season of Bones?
Bones ran for 12 seasons and a total of 246 episodes. All of the episodes aired on the Fox network. The show’s first episode aired on September 13, 2005, and the last episode on March 28, 2017. During its first three seasons, the show averaged between 8.9 million and 9.4 million viewers. And by Season Six, Bones was averaging 11.57 million viewers.
From season seven the ratings started to drop a little and by Seasons Ten and Eleven the show was averaging 7.27 million viewers. In the twelfth season, the ratings were down to 5.54 million. Fox decided to rest the show rather than continue indefinitely.
In simple words we say, Bones was canceled due to a drop in ratings. The series had experienced a successful run across its 12 seasons, but after being moved around the tv schedule multiple times over the years, the ratings began to decline. That’s the reason they stop making bones.
